S80 or E200?

i think she is only half right... without the star it not so much look like toyota but more like proton

 

let's hope the new CLK dun look so kartoon like C class

 

cuz if it does i got no kar to buy oredi

Maybe yes, maybe no I guess. A S80, while being cheaper, is not really that much cheaper if you compare model by model. Someone who truly appreciates cars will judge cars for what they are and not how much they cost. can't say the same apply to those badge whores.

Think he meant the S80 2.5T, though can also be the S60T5. Besides this model SM carries the S80 3.2 and S80 T6 AWD.

Tell me - why would anyone want to pay a hefty premium for a 1.8l E200 at S$12,000/yr when they can have a much more powerful 2.5l turbo Volvo S80 for only S$7,700/yr?

Is it purely the Mercedes badge that Mercedes owners / prospective buyers are going for?

 

I don't see how the S80's overall features, reliability, handling and ride comfort can lose out to the E200.

 

Given a choice between these 2, which would you choose?

Depending on model, some made in Thailand. Haven't heard of any made in Malaysia.

 

For the models in Singapore, depending on models, can be from Belgium or Sweden. If I'm not mistaken, Malaysia imports them in via a mixture of CBUs and CKDs......Thailand is mainly for own domestic consumption plus limited export to the region, but most important parts still imported.

I fear for the future of Singapore when one looks upon another via the car they drove to work.

 

I fear even more when one harbours the thinking that they deserve respect on the road bcos of the seemingly expensive rides they were driving

 

I certainly hope not all conti drivers are like that...or they selectively bought their posh cars because of one major purpose - to flaunt

 

One may be filthy rich but he, like the poor, only eat 3 meals a day (okay maybe 4 including supper) and sleeps on 1 bed. When he dies, he, like the poor, lies in 1 coffin. Go figure

Just found out from a friend that most of our ministers owned Volvo cause not too "loud"...

That makes sense but still the car is crap with loads of electronic problems...unless they get that sorted then they will need to look at the road-handling issue

You are joking right? Merc? BMW? feel inferior? These are to me also bread and butter cars, since there are so many of them on the roads. What to feel inferior about? I only show respect to ferraris, lambos, aston martins, etc... never felt inferior.
