I know. But there are also mention of Eagle F1, Flaken ST115 & Yokos... There are plenty of tyres in the market. I guess different tyre suits different needs. Just a suggestion for the thread starter :)

Hankook V8rs is the answer. in fact Hankook have very good wet grip due to its high grip silica rubber compound....

Bro,

Drop you a PM last week. Can revert. Thanks.

I do not mind getting bridgestone when their tyres are good even if the price are on the high side...

been using yokohamas for 8 years and only switched to bridgestone GR80 from 2003... wow... can tell you I never regret paying that kind of $$$.

just like why so many ppl are paying for sony when they know that sony is on the high side.

it's seem now ppl r more willing to pay more for Samsung not sony anymore.

The Hankook guy told me i should compare G3,ES100 and Respec or F1 thai with their Ventus Sport K104 as these are the higher performance n they are not as comfort n quiet as the previous 3

Been using 205/45r17 V8 since April 06. No regrets! Excellent well balanced tires in terms of comfort, quietness and grip!

Yes. Seem to b hearing alot of good comments about this tyre. I will put it on my "to consider" list when I need to replace my XM1's. [wave]

I am using Yokohama Aspec db as part of package when i bought my car, it was quiet during first month, but after using for 4 months (about 9k km), i getting more road noise....

I am considering changing to GR80, but i am not sure if that help (with noticable reduction of road noise), any advise?

yup bro, was precisely the same reason (road noise on the higher side) that is why I changed from db to gr80 [;)]... the other thing...GR80 grips on wet better than db.

so the road noise situation improve (that is quieter ride)? it was a bit pity to throw the old tyre just after 4 months? How much you pay for the tyre?

for me, yes, I was on aspec db before changing to gr80. and to me, the noise level between the 2 is significant. I paid for my gr80 16' for 105/pc.

if your concern is quietness.. dun think the noise is that unbearable...then why not use the db first before changing to GR80. otherwise you can sell the db as 2nd hand in the classified...

U mean the GR80 is better?

I did check with my tyre guy & he said my present XM1 is much better than the GR80 but since I don't have a good lobang to buy the XM1 again, I wil consider an alternative.

no bro. what I meant was that xm1 is a better one that is worth the try. I might want to try since few of my kakhis are giving good comments. But they have not used gr80 yet, and I have not used xm1... so no comments which is better [;)].

Oh.OK. Yes I also find my XM1's very good tyres. About 2 years old & still pretty quiet. Thread also still plenty left. Grip on wet & dry is more then enough for my normal driving style.

Tyre is good value for $$$ as I got at good price from PH. Now PH don't have good lobang for Michelin's anymore. [bigcry]

I'm currently using the V8 since boxing day. On normal roads, its pretty quiet. I travelled up to 90km/h and its still good. On expressway, ard 100-110km/h, some road noise can be heard already although its still pretty quiet compared to my stock bridgestone tyres.

Grip is pretty good since I've been travelling on wet roads becos of the weather recently. It cut thru puddles of water w/o any problem.

Currently only done abt 400+km on these tyres so FR is a little bit bias. Will see again after the running in, after 1k km. PM Robertoon for prices on these tyres, I had them done at Sembawang Rd next to the McD.
