Raining Neutral Newbie December 1, 2006 Share December 1, 2006 (edited) Hmmmm , newer car ba ...But that wont be fair aint it ? Not only alfas, most car manufacturers replace their current models with newer batch which is more featured, more power, more electornics, more everything ...hence felt "better" Perhaps the only car I can think of that the manufacturers tried hard to retain its orignal favour of driving dynamics and fun is MX5. Even so , they still have to give way to safety & emmison regulation & market demand & cost. Hence a heavier/safer/bigger engine MX5 with attractive folding roof prevails. Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie December 1, 2006 Share December 1, 2006 (edited) Hey dude, the Italian as usual has more soul (hard to explain until you have an Italian and I'm sure you'll understand) and looks better (just like why Italian designers sells more suits and gowns). But I will be equally happy with either so I won't sell one for the other. As mentioned on my PM, both are great handling cars. Magfocus 5th Gear December 2, 2006 Share December 2, 2006 Among other things..... IL-6 vs IL-4? You are being modest Yes, the 159 handles better. A pal who has lowered suspension (Bilstein's B8), thicker Eibach anti-roll bars (front & back) + strut bar comfirms it when we did that infamous corner. He traded in his 2nd 156 for a manual 159 . The stiffer chassis and suspension set-up are really good in the 159. Not at all, I seriously considered the 159 and I thought it was wonderful. It felt more germanic in the cabin than I could ever imagine, but decided to go for a two door instead (No, I did't think the Brera was worth its price over the 159) If I were looking for a 4dr sedan, that (159) would be really hard to pass up.. I am still going down to try out the 159 Selespeed..

Not necessarily, some cars feel better than their successor..

Dolphinaudi Neutral Newbie December 4, 2006 Share December 4, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the wallpapers man ...the Alfas have these timeless designs - everytime I stop next to these vintage Alfas (Guiletta or something), I think they look damn cool.
