any idea where can i buy heat insulation material cheap to diy ??

wanna shield my battery and air intake from engine heat....

hopefully to improve air intake temp and prolong battery life

Just improvise and get one of these S$2 sun shades from Giant Turf City.

 

I am using this to shield my battery from heat too.

 

If you get the "professional use" type, it's the same material used but they will charge you at least 10 times more.

Got mine from Asiatic. The material is called insuflex i think.. Got 1/8" to 1" thickeness, i forgot excatly. 1" abt $28+/- for a 3 x 4 feet. can use 3M double sided tape to hold it to shape or use it as sound proofing with the glue they also selling. This material usually use for Aircon or piping insulation. Remember to cover the top part of your Open Pod also. Happy DIY! nod.gif Show pic when done hor! Glue: S$7.60

 

The Superlon comes in a standard 3' by 4' sheet, pricing will vary with thickness. I paid S$7.60 for 10mm.

got the above but at slightly higher price than yours.

$8 bucks for the mattress [laugh]

$9 bucks for the sticky substance [laugh]

 

will start DIY heatproofing/soundproofing this weekend [thumbsup]

 

btw : those going to buy the superlon , i suggest u phone in to enquire bout the price 1st. I was quoted a higher price on-site than on the phone, a f***king 50% higher... [furious]

How long have u used this? Is it safe to use?
