VW car prices.

Been trying to find out the prices for the VW Golf 1.6 as well as if they brought in the Jetta 1.6, at what price. Especially since the dealership has changed hands, I would be very interested in the new pricing, if any.

Been surfing sgcarmart but the VW price list there has not been updated since July. Anyone has the above information, kindly share by posting here or by PM if it's inconvenient to post it up here. Thanks in advance.

Agree. VW here is quite overpriced. [thumbsdown]

I can actually afford a GTi, but the profit margin they gained held me back. They could'nt have my money.

Another option will be PI, but warranty becomes an issue.

My fren was actually considering the GTI as well. He ended up with the Stilo Abarth tho. If I did not remember wrongly, both had OMV of about 30k, but with about another 30k of difference in selling price.

What did u get in the end?

I seriously will not mind paying more if the car build and the dealer is very firm on the pricing. Car price being not too affordable is a good thing too or else it will just be any other car you see on the road. No class no image.

There is a reason why bens and bmw are still selling so well despite the high profit. The image. Last time I got myself a VW mainly is because I want to be diff.

Still holding back. No hurry. Initially i was hitched on the GTi as their DSG is quite fabulous. But the GTi does'nt have any paddle shifts 'cept for the R32. Somehow the novelty had worn off a bit. [sleeping]

When the new TTs came out, the TFSI model have got paddle shifts. That's when i thought when the Golf is due for a face lift, there's a possibility that improvements may be made to the current GTi as more and more manufacturers are having paddle shifts too. Though not as good as the DSG. A GTi with paddle shifts will be [thumbsup]

But then again, the drive train and transmission 'experts' from Japan, ie Honda is coming out with their own DSG CTR, worth the wait to see how it fares. May make the jump back to Jap cars again. Heh.

Agree. And their trend of selling outgoing/over mid-life A4s at rock bottom prices within their category carries on till this day.

BMW got desperate and tried to follow but they've some scary hidden costs. They were out to attract despo BMW buyers too.

An audi is an expensive golf, whereas a skoda is a cheap golf.

Choose one [laugh]
