You won't get it in Singpore unless through PI. The nearest authorised dealer is in Malaysia.

Those Smart car you see on the road belongs to DC and some PI imported.

Β

I would love to have one and would buy without a second thought. Had exhausted my search in Singapore and finally bought a March.

Β

Saw one around Bedok/Tampines area and heard is from the car sharing or rental firm. But can't find them from NTUC, Cityspeed etc. Not sure which co is handling it.

There were 2 smart cars which were on trial with NTUC INCOME Car Co-operative last year. I had the opportunity(unfortunate due to car accident) to rent it for two weeks. I must say it is a fun car to drive around(you attract a lot of attention) and I get about 18.5Km/L. However the car price will put many people off if it is put on sale here [shocked]

Β

You can view the smart car pictures which I took at below web

Β

The closer things here now on market are the Mitsubishi I or Subaru R.2 but I think the price is still on the high side.

Β

There is a Malaysia Smart Car Forum which provide good information about the car

Aiyoh, dont be so optimistic...a SMART is only a 2 seater with just enought boot space for a few bags of groceries from the supermarket.

Β

SGporeans so practical type, this type of configuration and price...sure cannot make it in our market.

Daimler Chrysler brings in the SMART cars. But if you saw how the car was assembled...you might not wanna buy liao.

Β

I saw them assemble the car before over at Changi Aircargo Complex...2 guys put 2 cars together at the carpark...I think that was for the Motorshow back then.

Β

M'sia selling the car though...saw in KL about 3 yrs ago...I think asking for RM50K...can't remember liao.

Fifth Gear did a crash test...I think at 70mph at a concrete wall and if faired better than a Ford Fiesta I think, anyway the conclusion was that the cars structure was stronger than the Fiesta / Renault Clio or whatever they tested it against and many other largers saloons that went through the same crash test.

Β

70mph x 1.6 = 112kph ... I dont think you need to worry on Singapore roads.
