Dwoon 1st Gear January 8, 2007 Share January 8, 2007 Nope..... it wasn't good. Wasted my half a day for installation (and $80 wasted labour) and taking out.... why???? Because I think 2 of them pieces were faulty. Don't think I'll even try getting used stuff in future, when its on the plugs area. AFter installation, I ran a CEL and the entire engine was wobbling.... apaprently, the ODBII diagnostic shows misfiring on 3 and 4. Take out and eveything back to normal. So, these thinggies aren't too reliable and will spoil. Never did have a chance to see if they even work for my ride.
Marcostan 4th Gear January 8, 2007 Author Share January 8, 2007 Sorry to hear that, but are u make sure the model is for your engine type? If not it cann't use. MarcosTan
Dwoon 1st Gear January 8, 2007 Share January 8, 2007 Yup, its for my engine type. Mounting was really horrible since its a boxer engine. That's why the expensive labour.
Nitroditto Neutral Newbie January 15, 2007 Share January 15, 2007 Quote Hi, Anyone installed both of these or either one. What's your feedback? Hi there SIFU, as you remember I installed the Ignite REV somewhere Nov last year without the VSD-II as someone had taken my harness . I felt the Ignite REV didn't perform too well on its own and had it taken out after a month. Dec '06 I installed the VSD-II and as you said better FC, even with my heavy foot I was hitting around 10km/L. This year I was inform to reinstall the Ignite REV as it worked good paired together. I did so last wednesday. I'm flying now...somehow the engine is much smoother and quieter, am achieving higher speeds at a shorter time. Don't ask me about FC, you know I never really cared. But for you... I'll measure a few tanks and let you know in a months time. Care for a test Drive
Chromas 1st Gear January 15, 2007 Share January 15, 2007 After having the Ignite Rev in the car for the past 2 months and still constantly monitoring my fuel consumption, I would say that it has improved (or in my case, maintained) my fuel consumption. I used to get around 8.3 to 8.7 km per litre of 95 Octane for my S15 Silvia. Right now, with a heavier right foot for driving after I installed it, it seems to have maintained the same fuel consumption as well. Thus in return, I got better "more km" for my litre in terms of being able to be more heavy footed right now without sacrificing on fuel consumption effeciency. Xiaogary Neutral Newbie January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 VSD II is a voltage stabiliser connected to battery only? I more interested in ignite rev, anyone installed? I not sure how many set I need to have. should be 4 set right?
Marcostan 4th Gear January 20, 2007 Author Share January 20, 2007 No, VSD II from TM Works is not a voltage stabilizer. Yes, it was connected to battery but it also need to connect to the ignition coil. The installation time for my Rav4 took almost 1 hour because there's a lot of connection that the mechanic need to connect. The final step was connect to battery. Brock 1st Gear February 10, 2007 Share February 10, 2007 Bro Marcos, Can this T.M. Works VSD II be transferable to other cars? Mind PM me the price and place you did it? Thanks.
Tommisan 4th Gear February 13, 2007 Share February 13, 2007 Hi Brock, VSD II unit is transferable from car to car, but the wiring harness may not be. You probably have to get a new set of wiring harness from imperial concepts. Have installed both VSD II and Ignite Rev, seems to help alittle on FC with VSD II, but dont expect miracles. Performance wise, I would say it does help a little on pick up. If you have the dough, no harm fixing it on. But be careful when you send the car for servicing, have to ask the mechanic to take care when changing the spark plugs. You do not want them to damage the glass tubings of the ignite Rev. Cheers, Tommy
