Hi,

I'm currently using stock rim, 14" w yoko apsec 185/65-14 tyre.

FC is an important factor to me(18-19km/L).. but wish to change to sport rim.. any suggestion or recommandation. If 15", i'm thinking of getting 185/55-15 tyre, for lesser lose of FC.. or shld i stick to my tyre and just change to sport rim.. [shakehead]

Which brand of tyre shld i go for if i'm looking for 185/55-15?

there's lotsa brands out there that carry 15" rims. one step down to 14 n u end up picking on the interns cuz u cant find the darn things.

try enkei for affordable light weights, volk if u're a fanatic with a fat wallet. there're many tire calculators on the web to find a close matching overall diameter, so u maintain ur circumference.

personally, i'd stick to 14" rims, but then i drive a march. wat do u drive?

here's a good calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

wow, thats good fc for an SUV [nod]

well, u've seen how ppl pimp their toyota wishes up with at least 16 or 17" rims. some look pretty good. but if u're concerned with fc, i'd stop at 16.

my company pays for most of my petrol bill but i'm still unhappy with my lousy fc (12-14km/l). i must admit i'm guilty of unnecessary launching, but when there's that empty road in front of u n iron maiden on the stereo, my feet develop a mind of their own n i'm helpless as a mathew mcconaughey fan.

i'm gonna be making some (hopfully) fc-enhancing changes (hopefully) soon [:/]

Once u upsize from 14 to 15, FC will sure drop.

Maybe you'll be getting 16-17km/l instead.

However when upsizing, most tyre/rims have a standard aspect ratio.

Thus the correct upsize will be 195/55/R15 for you.

To get a 185/55/R15 is hard. And you might have the Speedo going out a bit. Im trying to find a 185/50/R15. But no luck. [laugh]

As for wat rims u should get, lightweight is a concern. Next will be ur own design liking. If the rims is lightweight and darn ugly, i suggest dun go for it. Cuz you'll be on that rims for at least a 2 or 3 yrs. [shakehead]

hahaha, excuse me, i get mixed up sometimes [sweatdrop]

i myself am going from 185/60r14 to 195/45r14 T1R's. yea, sticking with the rim size cuz any smaller n my k11 will be making merry with the tarmac [crazy]

195/50/15 is fine.

Make sure rim is light, 5-6kg is fine cos Ur stock steel rims are heavy.

Hankook R-S2 avail in 195/60/14 size. Suggest to pop down and take a look at the tyres. They are a world better than T1R.
