Morganoh Neutral Newbie September 28, 2006 Share September 28, 2006 I hav been spending money on a few different polish, selant, and wax. and had tested them by applying them on to the same panel. But I found out that all the different products gives the same effect/shine. maybe some will last longer than the other, but thats all. Does it means that if your car paint is in it original condition, no matter what I apply , the car surface will not get shinnier or brighter or better? can any one advice me? ↡ Advertisement

Morganoh Neutral Newbie September 29, 2006 Author Share September 29, 2006 its Red color, I had try afew brands of wax (at least 5-6 diff types, price ranging from $15 to $50) but no diff on the shine. I'm about to give up thinking that all brands are the same, so no need to spend anymore money
Gen2 Neutral Newbie September 29, 2006 Share September 29, 2006 Hi bro Morganoh, my guess is either your car has not been machine polish for quite a while liao or the paint work on your car has reached the optimum shine, so whichever product you use you will not see a big difference in term of shine. Morganoh Neutral Newbie September 30, 2006 Author Share September 30, 2006 I guess its at its optium shine. cos I seldom drive my car. only 15000km after 1yr 8mths. and most of them time its under the shelter and I wipe it almost once every 2 days. Maybe I should drive to u and show u .
Gen2 Neutral Newbie September 30, 2006 Share September 30, 2006 If that's the case than wat you need to do is to maintain that optimum shine liao . We sure can meet up to see your ride, I'm just a phone call away .
Coolbreeze90 Neutral Newbie October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 Hi all i am new to this forum and have been readin quite a bit of the threads in this detailing. I a driving a light blue 3 dr getz and have been faithfully washing twice a week and waxing every weekend with autoglym... However, i have noticed that certain parts of the car, paint has started to chip off. At first, i thought was dirt and start washing the area a little more but after a while it stays there and after i wax, the wax gets stuck in the pit holes. My friends told me that it was due to flying stones from other cars... Just wondering if anyone knows how to touch up these 'scars'.... I did not want to start a new thread cause dunno if anyone had posted this before. Really hope someone can help me...
Kaiserdome 1st Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 (edited) Stone chips are very normal. U can use touchup paint, get some weird looking protector for bonnet or live with it Edited October 2, 2006 by Kaiserdome
Coolbreeze90 Neutral Newbie October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 but the touch up paints that i have seen are rather different from my car and when i went back to komocco to respray, they showed me another getz that has the same colour as mine. He just re spray because of an accident and the colour that came out was very different.. Thats why i was not very keen on gettin the touch up paint. I was recommended a product from 3M which actually 'sands' the surrounding paint and blends the scratch/chip marks to make it less obvious. I have also noticed that no matter how many times i wash or polish, it is still not as good as the professionals... Wonder if they have any secret up their sleeves... does this forum have meet ups to wash car together?? Maybe i can pick up some skills from you guys??? Kaiserdome 1st Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 Just browse this detailers' section (A search would be helpful too). There are many expert detailers ard and meetups also. Don get over worried about stone chips. They are part and parcel of driving. Cheers. ↡ Advertisement
