Assassin Clutched April 1, 2003 Author Share April 1, 2003 Ok, just checked with the shop. If you get 4 tyres....each will be S$110 for 195/55/R15. If you want a comparison, you can try calling other authorised Michelin resellers like Leong Seng [Tel: 67444280] or South East Tyre [Tel: 62417665]. Saaber Neutral Newbie April 1, 2003 Share April 1, 2003 How abt Kumho 712? Will definitely be cheaper...
Pathfinders Neutral Newbie April 1, 2003 Share April 1, 2003 sometimes i wonder if you're the agent for Kumho in SG. Must be making big bucks now and saving on advertising costs... But i agree that Kumho is no horse run!
Phalanx Neutral Newbie April 1, 2003 Share April 1, 2003 What about 205/55/16?
Phalanx Neutral Newbie April 1, 2003 Share April 1, 2003 Dunno man...couple of us at SEATSG were testing the tyre, though Kumho is cost effective, comfortable coz of sidewall, could not really perform as well with say, the ES100 which was the tyre we pitted against. Assassin Clutched April 1, 2003 Author Share April 1, 2003 What about 205/55/16? Will have to check this up tomorrow. The shops are closed now. Or you can give the shops a call also. The names and tel numbers are posted above. Some other pricings for comparison of the same size of tyres you are asking about: - S-03 ~S$210 each - Pilot Sport ~S$240 each - P6000 ~S$160 each - Falken ST115 ~S$130 each - Kumho 712 ~S$110 each The prices may have changed since I asked about them, so best to still give the shops a call. Saaber Neutral Newbie April 1, 2003 Share April 1, 2003 But for that kind of pricing, I can burn tyres anytime I want....

But i agree that Kumho is no horse run! No lah...Just want to share with fellow MCF forumers the experience of using Kumho 712... For road use, grippy in the dry and progressive at limit..I can take the KJE exit to BKE at 100kmh......wet handling also just above average, no surprises but of course, can't compare with ST115 wet performance but it is ok with me since I don't drive fast in the wet anyway only abt 100kmh to 110kmh on the highway....It may not be on par with tyres like S-03, AVS Sport , .....etc but it not far away and with that kind of low pricing, I would say it beat them hand down....definitely worth it.... Phalanx Neutral Newbie April 2, 2003 Share April 2, 2003 In a sense, that's true. But ahem...I am more "environmentally friendly" then Actually, i just prefer a tyre that performs excellently in the rain..

Assassin Clutched April 3, 2003 Author Share April 3, 2003 What about 205/55/16? Should be about ~S$185 each. Best to ask around to get a better idea.
Phalanx Neutral Newbie April 3, 2003 Share April 3, 2003 Hmm...sounds reasonable...
Assassin Clutched April 3, 2003 Author Share April 3, 2003 Yep. Quite so for a 16" High Performance tyre with comfort in mind and good wet handling capabilities. There is a picture of the tyre and its groove lines in the link I posted in the 1st post. Cheers
Phalanx Neutral Newbie April 3, 2003 Share April 3, 2003 Any idea whether the sidewall is soft? I want a more comfortable performance tyre...something like CSC2.
Assassin Clutched April 3, 2003 Author Share April 3, 2003 I'll have to check that later tonight. Maybe go tyre kicking a bit. But they're definitely softer than Potenza G3 and Pilot Sport tyres. Sorry I'm biased against CSC tyres. Had a very bad experience with my factory installed CSC tyres in wet weather, thats why I changed to Pilot Sport. Saaber Neutral Newbie April 3, 2003 Share April 3, 2003 CSC2 is so much better than CSC but very expensive.... I have used CSC before and I agree with you....they sucks big time...
Assassin Clutched April 3, 2003 Author Share April 3, 2003 (edited) Ok, checked. The tyre sidewall is quite firm, almost as firm as the G3, but the ride is better, as in more comfortable. Edited April 3, 2003 by Assassin
Assassin Clutched April 3, 2003 Author Share April 3, 2003 Even tho CSC2 is said to be much better than CSC, I dont think I'll go back to them anyway. Its going to be just Michelin, Bridgestone, or Pirelli for me. ↡ Advertisement
