Amsoil, where to get them?

I used to get my Amsoil form MCF but it seems that MCF no longer carry them? So any of you guys know where I can get them other from MCF? PM me if it is not convenient to post it here. Appreciated!

amsoil is good but expensive if your OCI is 10,000km cos it is meant for longer but do you want to keep it longer in your engine?

 

for 10,000km OCI, most normal brands can liao. im going for chevron supreme with 5,000km OCI cos most oil filters are not built to last 10,000km. 6 bucks per quart!

 

chevron has merged with texaco, which produced the popular havoline range. latest VOA and UOA on chevron supreme seems to indicate it is equal (or is) havoline. >>> read off BITOG

I was using the High Performance Syn Oil, just did my oil change after 15,000km; engine was still smooth but was conservative. I did an oil filter change and oil top-up during 7,500km .

 

From my expereince, it is indeed a very good engine oil as compared to my previous Mobil & Shell. Engine tends to be 'rough' after about 7-8,000km, but with the Amsoil at 15,000km still good.

 

If you compare the cost of the usual 10,000km oil and oil filter change interval; it even works out to be slightly cheaper and enjoy the smooth engine throughout.

I read the Amsoil website that the oil has an extended 'drain interval' of 25,000 miles (40,000 km) or 1 year. In this case will the oil filter be able to last for a year?

 

I am thinking of using Amsoil oil as my milage is only probably 10,000km/year. I think Amsoil is about S$80 to S$100 for 5 L. It will be a lower maintenance cost that using cxxxxxe or Mobil 1 at 6 months interval.

I'm using amsoil 5w30.. after 8km plus, i find my engine a bit rough.. think it's time to change oil liao.
