Boring Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Share September 11, 2006 Newbie here. Just upgraded my rainbow SLC to the PRS. Got the mid-bass and tweeters seperately since I don't need the x-over. Set-up still pretty basic compared to some brothers here. 1. 8650 (active) 2. TS-M171PRS mid-bass 3. TS-T031PRS tweeters 4. PS Tantrum 400.4 5. Helix blue 2 6. Lightning audio 10" SVC 7. Belden speaker cables 8. Klotz with canare plugs RCA I might pop by for the next meetup if you guys want to audition. Speaker still need to break-in. Was also looking at the focal K2 before deciding on the PRS. Next target is the shallow mount pioneer subs. Need more boot space... ↡ Advertisement

Still need some time to break-in. EQ not tuned yet. I got mine from CS.
Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Share September 11, 2006 bro, look like you need more power for the mid and tweeter
Boring Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Author Share September 11, 2006 I did ask CS about this. They say should be ok since both the tweeter and mid-bass is rated at 50 RMS. Will have to live with this for a while... Till i upgrade to a better set of amps. Which is better? 2 x 2 channel amps for tweeter and mib-bass or 1 x 4 channel to run both tweeter and mib-bass? Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Share September 11, 2006 (edited) why not try postive using your exiting amp.should be enough for your PRS. for me i would go for 4CH amp to run active.more stable. Boring Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Author Share September 11, 2006 You mean passive? I don't have the cross-over leh...
Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Share September 11, 2006 sorry wrong typo ,yup run passive.get a cross over to run it.then don't need to look for another amp
Boring Neutral Newbie September 11, 2006 Author Share September 11, 2006 I'll wait till the re-tune then check whether if the amp is really lacking. So far it's ok... seems like the gain is set very low on the PG now as well... probably can stick to this set-up for a while 1st...
