Q2: at the moment 1 am using a 2 channel Amp... 1000watts just for the tweeter

Q3:what will the surround sound effect be?

1000 watt for tweeter??? [sweatdrop] 100 is it?

Anyway what u trying to achieve? Better sound stage? U do need some form of crossover network. It is not so simple as just adding extra tweeter.

For Question 3: You don't get surround sound with an extra tweeter! Or do you mean better soundstaging?

Why don't you just get a better tweeter in the first place, say a good Scanspeak, Dynaudio or Morels?

It depends what your purpose is to add the 2nd tweeter and the degree of control you wish to have over it.

If it is to just lighten the load on your current tweeter, then you can just split the signal that is being sent to your surrent tweeter - you would need an additional 2 channels of amplification. Not advisable to bridge and run from your current amp.

If you wish to have better high frequency extension - you can perhaps get a pair of ribbon tweeters or super tweeters [sly]

The tweeters by themselves are unlikely to "improve" any surround effect and would in fact diffuse your imaging.

FYI, There are people who have added an additional pair of super tweeters.

You should actually take the other advice into consideration and just change your current tweeters if you wish to improve your sound.

If you really wish to have "true" surround sound, then you should get a surround processor and re-wire your entire set-up for a 5.1 or 7.1 system. [flowerface][nod]

ok lah..

let me answer ur questions:

Q1)

if lets say, u have another 2 channel amp to power ur 2nd set of tweeters, get a Y cable and tap the signal from ur tweeter amp to ur new amp to drive ur tweeters. no matter wat, there must be a form of cross over, be it passive or active when u power ur tweeters. by usin the y cable, there will be a "split of signal' from ur HU to ur amp. so do take note of this.

Q2) i suggest u check the specs of ur amp again.

Q3)surround effect, depending on placement of ur tweeters. if u place ur tweeters behind, confirm will have surround effect.

4) anyone done this? i think there is another forum member by the nick of "firespitter" who has another set of tweeters aboce his current set of tweeters. maybe u can look him up and see wat he has to say.

cheers.

Focal k2p tweeters are TN51/52, in-case you need to find. But your infinity tweeters good enough la [thumbsup]

If you like Surround sound, play 5.1 or 7.1 as bro KW advise lor [idea]

Firespitter had a pair of super tweeters for a while - he has since taken them out!

BTW my AudioControl DQT is with him now for him to tame some offending frequencies [flowerface]
