I know I'm going to get "hantum" by the Korean fans for saying this but would you pay 6k more for a Hyundai Getz against the Honda Jazz?

 

Yes, the Jazz is a bit long in the tooth like the Altis but for an "underdog" to price itself so much more than the market leader suggest to me, poor value. No doubt the Koreans have improved leap and bounds but I'm not sure if they overtaken Toyota - not yet anyway.

The only bad point about Altis is it's made in Thailand whereas Avante made in Korea. (Am I right?)

 

I'm not too convinced of the QA/QC of the Altis ... heard too many complaints about it thou my colleagues and friends.

 

So I'll go for Avante and I'm also very sure Altis won't be that cheap if it's manufacture in Jp.

My take is Komoco is testing the market and will eventually drop price like they always do. Buyer beware! That said, the Koreans are quite good but not yet the standards of the Jpn market leaders and hence, I have a concern with their premium pricing strategy.

it's indeed difficult to make decision , Avante has attractive spec, but price , Altis space loses but under toyota title and $6k cheap

me too, another the most important fact is FC, altis average FC around 12km/l , but Avante who know??, this will test how deep of your poctet is

The pricing will drop definitely. Couple of years back when the cerato was launched, it was 70+k. now I thk only ard 50k and with ABS and airbags somemore

face it, altis can never sell in places like Japan, Europe, US.

they are built to sell in ASEAN, it is not a matter of cost alone

why it is not built in Japan.

if altis is not cheap, who the hell will buy that?

 

QC control may be good at Toyota factory, but QC for those parts

that supply to Toyota may be questionable. If Altises are so cheap,

it has it's reason why so. Not just the factor of cheap Thai workers.
