Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 HU is definitely inclued. However, due to the odd size of the HU installation slot (larger than 1 DIN size), the PDI guys at CA will need to do some handicraft if they are to install a normal 1 DIN size HU. Most of the external audio installers should have a fair amount of experience doing such cosmetic modifications. It will be interesting to find out how the installers at PDI overcome this problem. Will post the pictures once I have news that CA has successfully installed a 1 DIN HU in an Octavia II. ↡ Advertisement

Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 The black vRS is still at PDI. I do not have concrete indications whether it will be displayed at the showroom.
Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 According to reliable sources, the Sales Manager of CA confirmed the letterings and placed the order for the plastic plates, which have been fixed onto the vRS. When my SE showed me the vRS, I was shocked that such tiny details can be overlooked. A good reflection of the Sales Manager's knowledge of Skoda products. Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 Due to the poor lighting conditions, I did not manage to capture any good shots of the interior. I am a firm believer of using natural lighting for my shots.
Magfocus 5th Gear September 5, 2006 Share September 5, 2006 Can see that, looking at your shots Would C&C bring in more vRSs? Or just indent basis?

Tashi Clutched September 5, 2006 Share September 5, 2006 yo bro Your photos are very rich and nicely saturated! Well done and professional! Any chance of tweaking the ASA speed to adapt to the interior? Just curious with the vRS interior. No worries, if not, got time, sure will visit the showroom to take at a look at the vRS. bless tashi
Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 The current vRSs have not found any buyers. I doubt CA will be bringing more of this model in the near future. Let's wait and see how CA will be able to clear the 2 x vRS hatchback and 1 x vRS Combi with its current pricing. Hope CA is not oblivious to the fact that the Ford Focus 2.5 Sport Technologies (ST) is selling for SGD96,900 based on the Life! review a few weeks back. The overall build quality of the ST may not be on par with the Octavia vRS. However, it is a highly rated machine according to many motoring literature overseas. Definitely a strong contender to the vRS.
Fluffy Clutched September 5, 2006 Share September 5, 2006 you mean a good reflection of the Sales Mgr's limited knowledge of skoda products did you notice that the brake calipers were RED ? in other parts of the world, the vRS has Skoda Greencalipers, what gives??? Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 Cubic printing is also known as aqua/water transfer printing. In summary, you can customise the plastic panels to take on a certain colour/texture/look. This site provides a wealth of information on this technology. http://www.l-und-g.de/home.phtml
Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 I prefer not to do post-processing on my digital images, if possible. Pictures of the vRS' interior could be taken, but I must rely on the flashgun. Flash photography has certain limitations in bringing out the true colour of objects. Still prefer the lighting from Mother Nature. It is undisputedly the best.
Koolaba 1st Gear September 5, 2006 Author Share September 5, 2006 Not only limited knowledge, but also a lack of passion for the brand. Period. Yes, I have noted that the brake callipers are painted red when Beanoyip posted the first set of photos of the local vRS. Concur with your findings that the vRS sold elsewhere come with green callipers. Here is what I have seen in Austria.
Tashi Clutched September 5, 2006 Share September 5, 2006 You are very right bro, and I did the same (natural light) when I was a photographer a LONG time back! :-) And the green calipers surely look more complementary to the overall green theme of the Skoda cars. Guess it is just painting over the calipers, nothing too drastic that can't be fixed. bless tashi

Guess it is just painting over the calipers, nothing too drastic that can't be fixed. I reckon that the sales manager has customised the local vRS according to his whims and fancies. The problem is more skin-deep. Read my after-thoughts here: http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Volkwagen_...gi?post=1529188 This was penned after a one-to-one phone conversation with the sales manager of CA. Gz0707 4th Gear September 13, 2006 Share September 13, 2006 Hi all, Been following this forum for a while. Finally went by CA for a quick look and wifey was very impressed by Oct II. We did not have time to go for test drive, but were suitably impressed by boot spaces, door closing "clunk" and improved passenger space at the back seats. There's one 1 that has been registered SGK (for test drive), but none in the showroom. The price quoted was 69.5 and was told this price will quoted at the roadshow in Nov (not sure where). Koolaba, can u PM me ur SE, even though we may not yet make a decision soon? Thanks!
Firstcall Clutched September 19, 2006 Share September 19, 2006 everything in the interior looks good except the centre console. so cheapo and bare with cheap hard plastic. The lack of options for local model is very disparaging considering it cost more than its rivals. ↡ Advertisement
