Vino Clutched August 18, 2006 Share August 18, 2006 Does anyone know what the difference between the 2 models? In your opinion is this a better buy than Harrier? ↡ Advertisement
Virginkilla Neutral Newbie August 22, 2006 Share August 22, 2006 I reckon that you are referring to '06 RAV4 brought in by local Parallel Importers. Basically X, G & SPORT are available in either 2WD or 4WD. Standard equipment in X, G & SPORT Models - Projector type discharge headlight - LED type tail lamp - Back door attaching spare tire & colored hardcover - Front & rear disc brakes - 7-speed sports sequential shift - the overhead console - Left and right independent control type full automatic air conditioner - Push type heater control panel - Robbery prevention system etc. Standard equipment in SPORT & G - UV Privacy glass - Front fog lamp - Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel & Shift Knob Standard equipment in G - Smart entry & start system - cruise control - plasma cluster Interesting link you may find helpful. http://www.rav4expedition.com/modules.php?...order=0&thold=0 IMHO, there are just too many RX300 clones.... Vino Clutched August 23, 2006 Author Share August 23, 2006 Hi VK, Tks for the useful info. Do u think it's more worthwhile getting the PI G? My concern is very much on the CVT... How's the 'feel' of driving a CVT? Is it much more sluggish than a conventional auto trans?
Virginkilla Neutral Newbie August 24, 2006 Share August 24, 2006 Hey VINO, If budget is not a constraint, the extras that come with G model are worth every cent paid. As for CVT concern, doing test drive personally should help tackle some your reservations. Just pop by our weekly gathering or forum, I am sure our 4.3 (3rd Gen RAV4) bros will help explain in more details. You know where to find us. Vino Clutched August 26, 2006 Author Share August 26, 2006 Tks VK, What I meant was actually the reliability of CVT....heard that it's less reliable than the normal auto trans. Any comments?
Picanto 3rd Gear August 27, 2006 Share August 27, 2006 the cvt technology has been around for many years and its problems should have ben sorted out by the manufacturers. i think its durability has to do with the driver. the best built transmission cannot take the abuse of an abusive right foot. ↡ Advertisement
