Hi Guys,

My car pulls to one side (mainly right side) whenever i step on the brakes !!! Sometimes i even could feel the tail is like 'unstable' ie not stopping in a straight line..... abit like a wriggling snake..... i will see my mech very very soon. What'z the problem??? (it's the old Celica)

Thanks in advance for your advice

Cheers

sounds like warped rotors...or the pads are not biting properly or uneven biting....may cause this....the hydraulic may also not be engaing evenly thus, the pull!

Get it checked..STAT!

For lit checking:

Mostly this one comes from either a caliper piston seized or caliper slides seized. This one is dangerous! If your car tries to turn when you apply the brakes you could veer into oncoming traffic. What often happens with this one is this: the caliper piston on one side starts to seize, the other one now applies first, car veers away from bad part. Driver learns to compensate by steering opposite to the pull every time he brakes. A panic situation comes along, driver nails the brakes, steers away from the expected pull, but because the piston was only partially seized, it works just fine when the brakes are applied with vigor. There is no pull this time. It is easy to lose control of your car in situations like this, if your car pulls to one side or the other when you brake, fix it(or get it fixed) before you hurt somebody. Replace calipers and pads and service the caliper slides.

Don't drive the car anymore, see your mech immediately...thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

Like what E46 has said, seem to be like a case of seized caliper...nod.gif

instead of my regular mech (old timer), u think normal mech (there's one very near my place) can fix the problem??.......... it's quite a simple job right??

(regular mech abit far from my place and he's usually busy. ........hang on, he did replace wheel bearings and shocks for me two months ago, you think he messed up the brake??)
