That's good news for some. Guess their 2.5 GDFs aren't moving off the showrooms quickly enough despite their low prices.

Wonder how the facelifted Legacys will fare when they carry the 2.5l powerplant.

they are digging their own grave for the 2.5.....

if they bring in the 2.0 in automatic form,i guess the grave has to be dug a little deeper. [wave]

Since you mentioned it, now got a strong feeling that they'll bring in the auto... Now only left with TS, WRX and WRX STi manual. Rest of the line up are auto.

Now more dealers stop selling manual cars. Eg, Mini, Mazda, etc. Even the SEs at KM are saying the manual civics are moving very slowly. May stop bringing in manual versions altogether.

Seems like the demand for auto on the rise due to the new auto license. Manual cars are getting more exclusive liao.

Pathetic... [furious]

1. Civic is the racerboy car of the yester years. They are now more family oriented so the focus has been shifted. hence, it will be more appealing to the prospects to get an auto Civic than a manual one.

2. The two surviving ones, EVO and WRX should conitnue to attract people who love to race with a manual gear.

manuals will be obsolete in time to come... just look at all modern supercars... most come in semi automatic tiptronic style gearboxes...

faster gearshifts, no clutch... its alot better than manuals now...

tiptronic style boxes used to be lousy....just like how lousy some CVTs are now... but they've become so good that manuals are replaced by such semi autos...

think Ferrari's F1 inspired semi-auto. even lambo has their E-Gear now...

and they have been around for a long time liao... very evolved stuff...

BTW, Tiptronic is a Porsche term.

I heard it is Auto. Maybe like what the others mentioned, the demand for manual drive is no longer there.

I did email MI not too long ago. I asked a straightfwd qn like if they have any plans to bring in the 2.0 WRX similar to the PIs. The answer was negative. I still have the email though. Seems like cannot rely on their info anymore. I do hope they bring in 2l WRX manual eventually with low OMV, pricing abt 75-77K.

I heard its auto too...But as I said,if this round bring in auto, then Mr Glenn indeed didn't do his homework....I doubt it will fall below $80 for the 2.0 if they were to bring it.Likely to cost more than the current 2.5...You may wanna re-consider your strategy if you are eyeing the PI's JDM WRX.

Agree although the shift is faster than people driving manual cars but the fun of the stick is not there...
