How to replenish clear coat other than respraying

i know we all like our rides shiny shiny and to that end we use polishers to remove marks and swirls... but aren't polishers abrasive (not referring to fillers which don't do the work so well) and wear out the clear coat? so how does one top up the clear coat without going for a respray?

spraying on a new coat of paint wouldn't give you a new clear coat isn't it?

only after spraying the paint, clear coat is applied. I'm guessing here, but it seems to make more sense.

I think it is possible to spray on just the clearcoat provided the base coat is still in good condition. A spray painter should be able to do that. Used car dealers do that all the time.

i dont think it is easy to apply the clear coat ourselves. if so then i think many would have followed suit and the existance or sealants would not have surfaced.

Not easy to diy...... the clearcoat have to be sprayed on just like paint. I think the only way to ensure your clearcoat last longer is not to use anything that is abrasive on your paintwork unless absolutely necessary.
