Ahbengdriver 6th Gear August 6, 2006 Share August 6, 2006 To add on, I am also keen on shopping centre types where they wash my car, not polish the car while I shop. Washing n drying my of cos be done with proper shampoo which does not remove the paint protection layer and also no brushes on rims. Even better if also can detail leather seats n vacuum the interior. suggestions thank in adv.
Kawan 1st Gear August 6, 2006 Author Share August 6, 2006 So far i had not seen any real "washing" of car with water at shopping centre carpark. In fact i just tried the service at the Wisma Atria carpark. I just washed my car before the visit so cannot comment much on their "washing" which is included in the service. Not very impressed but would like to reserve my comments for now. I signed up for a one year package, to enjoy a full detailing service (exterior and interior including engine), and the low cost service (exterior + interior excluding leather seats) for all subsequent visits in the next 12 months. Johnnytanki Neutral Newbie August 7, 2006 Share August 7, 2006 Same same...me just bought that 1 yr package at junction8.....is at $388 right? It come with a free steaming of seats too. I had the first wash free which is suppose to be $15 for non-member and $10 for member... To me the washing is quite ok lah..they even polish the tyre too...but i find that they did not do a good job for the internal windscreen. the rest are still acceptable. Kawan 1st Gear August 8, 2006 Author Share August 8, 2006 Yes, i think we sign up for the similar package. Mine is $398 ... i will try out their Bugis branch next time ... sounds better. I guess steaming is for non leather seats? I don't have that. Tyre got polished, not bad for that part.
Johnnytanki Neutral Newbie August 8, 2006 Share August 8, 2006 btw, have you sent in your car for the first detail treatment? I am thinking of sending in after the membership card arrive. Also dunno whether any bros in this forum had bought their package and use their services b4, hope they can give some advises.
Biccat Neutral Newbie August 8, 2006 Share August 8, 2006 Just a word of caution for those who want to get their car detailed at those shopping centre car parks. I had one bad experience many years back in C....p...t. Came back with full of scratch and swirl marks but only detected them when I reached home. Lan lan loh. After that experience, everytime I go near one at the shopping centres, I usually hang around and observe what they do, sometimes just pretending to make some inquiries. No wonder my car was scratched. Most of the time, the fxxking pail of water they used to wash the cars looked just like longkang water.

Magictouch Neutral Newbie August 8, 2006 Share August 8, 2006 Try Punggol Plaza Basement 2 Car Grooming Centre. They do the petrol kisok style, using jet spray to wash the cat thoroughly before doing sealant washing. They do not use car shampoo to wash the car which can be abrasive to the paintwork. Instead they use Hi-Glaze 88 for car wash.
Johnnytanki Neutral Newbie August 9, 2006 Share August 9, 2006 walan....so i think we had made a mistake to buy those package from the basement carpark liao
Kawan 1st Gear August 9, 2006 Author Share August 9, 2006 I actually regret also, considering paying $398 my expectation is higher than what is delivered. (1) With just one person working on my car, the job is done in 1.5 hours. For me, this is a "rush" job. (2) When i came back to collect the car, i found a few area is still "dirty" and have to request for them to be done. For me, this means they expect customer to do the QA. (3) I found some straight line scratches here and there, and they just tell me those are the deep scratches that i had due to improper wash. Perhaps 20% of them are but many of them could just be their "work". (4) I am not very impressed with the pail of dirty water and their dirty cloth. Do they really do the spray wash like at petrol kiosk at Bugis Junction Car Park?
Johnnytanki Neutral Newbie August 9, 2006 Share August 9, 2006 So u had went for the first time thorough detailing? which branch u went to?
Baconseet Neutral Newbie August 9, 2006 Share August 9, 2006 (edited) Best is to do your own washing and detailing, if you have the time. My bro in law tried the one at Marine Parade (parkway parade).. end result - NOt a satisfactory one. Didn't ask him much.. though. I have toughseal on my altis but just can't find time to go back for wash and touchup. Usually, wash and clean once every month or fortnightly. Weekly wash is not possible nowadays.. :) Tyre polish can just buy those shine stuff to shine it.. OR.. use KIWI.. (back to those army daze).. hehe See this for diy.. http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_detailing...Y_13684,00.html Tough to get rid.. 1. Leather stains. 2. Stains, water marks and wash scratches on the car body. Mine can only see clearly of those scratches under bright light. Hence, the above tough part have to get professionals to do it.. (with proper tools and material). Johnnytanki, u try and let me know how the package is.. :) Edited August 9, 2006 by Baconseet
Johnnytanki Neutral Newbie August 9, 2006 Share August 9, 2006 i would luv diy too...but need to find time lah... now dun even have time to check aircon filter...sigh.. Should squeeze one day and we do the polishing together
Baconseet Neutral Newbie August 10, 2006 Share August 10, 2006 Yah.. u go and check if you have water marks on your roof, boot and bonnet bor.. Once checked.. we'll plan for execution.. Exercise "DETAILED DETAILING" :)
