In the Octy, there's a plastic piece at the undercarriage that shields the engine from the elements.

Other than preventing water splashes in the undercariage, this component might act as wind deflector too.

I understand that some owners remove it as a result of damage by the curb due to frequent

front-in parking.

 

Could techies share info on the usefulness of this undercarriage cover. Does removing

affect performance in any way?

It is not wise to remove it, had my removed without my knowledge by CA, only to realised it too late and gotten update over it, which they promised but never fulfill.

 

It helps to keep the engine compartment clean and also keep the car a little quieter.

Mine has been damaged. CA had suggested that no replacement is needed,

as it's usefulness in local conditions is limited.

 

I'm it is there for a purpose. Without the cover, the belly is exposed.

Have every intention to re-install. CA told me many owners have damaged theirs

and not replaced. Cannot believe that CA actually advise owners so.
