KARTer 2nd Gear August 22, 2011 Share August 22, 2011 Would you like to give an update please? I heard the slots have been fully taken up even tho each slot doesnt come cheap, definitely not grassroot activities for the participants. Deep pockets are needed to take part. I could be wrong though. Hey guys There'll be a new go-kart track on Orchard Road from 16-18 September! (Never thought you'll hear the roaring engine on the shopping street huh?) It will be held at *SCAPE. Best timings will gain entry into a Hall of Fame race. More details will be revealed, so stay tuned. GTR78 Neutral Newbie September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 Sorry for the late reply, I just saw your post today There is only 1 permanent go kart track in SGP as of 2011, its Kartright Speedway which is located inside Arena Country Club. The rental karts there are availiable to the public, the track is sometimes closed for corporate events and races, so please do check their schedule before you make your down to avoid disappointment http://www.kartright.com/ Anybody organising a karting trip to Kartright or Plentong? btw ..... how many go-kart tracks are opened to public? Kartright Speedway and Arena Country Club only? Thanks!
GTR78 Neutral Newbie September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 I think the full price tickets are still availiable at the event itself. SGD 40 per try http://www.orchardroad.org/events/events_c....php?id=go_kart Not cheap, but about the ballpark price for such activities in SGP. Just wanna ask whether the orchard Go Kart ticket still available? Where to get it?
GTR78 Neutral Newbie September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 If you wish to stick to mainland SGP, maybe you can ask the guys at Kartright? I doubt he is tall enough (1.4m) for the rental karts in Kartright, so your next best option is Plendong in JB (they are more "bochap" about safety in JB.....) http://www.kartright.com/arrive-drive.php I don't know of any dealer here that sells proper cadet (kid) sized race karts with electric motors. A cheaper and safer alternative would be to start him off on one of those electric toy karts availiable in ToysRUs etc. Don't get me wrong, but I have seen some nasty accidents on the kart track even with "lame" 6 bhp engines in inexperienced hands. Cheers My 5 yrs old son wanted to learn go-kart? Possible locally? And where can i purchase and electric go-kart for him? Thanks
GTR78 Neutral Newbie September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 Sad to say KARTer, in Sillypore, 40 bucks is about as cheap as it comes for motorsports. I have tried to organize grassroot kart races in SGP before, suffice to say its not easy talking to the Singapore Sports Council etc. Cheers Would you like to give an update please? I heard the slots have been fully taken up even tho each slot doesnt come cheap, definitely not grassroot activities for the participants. Deep pockets are needed to take part. KARTer 2nd Gear September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 (edited) Sad to say KARTer, in Sillypore, 40 bucks is about as cheap as it comes for motorsports. I have tried to organize grassroot kart races in SGP before, suffice to say its not easy talking to the Singapore Sports Council etc. Cheers a karting kaki of mine organises fun-kart race series quite successfully and the slots are snapped up within an hour online whenever he starts registration for the bi-monthly race.... if anyone is interested pls check out kartingsingapore.com and look for the thread funkart race or something like that... good value for money races... the following of this race series is very good, in fact the top 8 racers from this series are now in the final round of the OCBC endurance race to be held soon..... the funkart race is not really a commercial thingy, but organise by this guy and a few volunteers to provide grassroot kart racing experience at affordable prices Edited September 15, 2011 by KARTer
