Twixified Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 yup, you can find out when where and which of your car is made etc from the VIN number. It can be decoded referring to a chart and you will know about ur car's "shen chen ba zi". I don't drive the touareg, my dad does. I'm having the GTI.. It has been great
Twixified Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 If you get a Touareg/phaeton from car and cars, it is made in germany. For the GTI, some GTI owners who got their ride from c&c claim that they are not made in germany. Whereas those who got the GTI from PI are made in germany. Miles 4th Gear July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 u are right... but i thought 2001 golf gti should be made in wolfsburg germany... unless they brought in the south african ones. cannot be brazilian made ones... dont think brazilian plants manufacture RHD. Also, the freight will kill them. as for touareg,.. .they should be made in dresden (same plant as phaeton),.. or wolfsburg. golf V gti brought in by C&C -- 5 door made in south africa. 3 door made in wolfsburg. that's why the OMV is the same. the new Jetta (dont know when they'll bring in), is only made in mexico (both LHD + RHD)... so its should be from there. Polo should be from south africa. neu passat should be from wolfsburg too, ... but judging from the problems owners faced here, it could be south african made too. bettle - only mexico made them... so its only place of origin is there. Eos - if they ever bring in... should be made in belgium or portugal.
