Suxelis Neutral Newbie July 27, 2006 Share July 27, 2006 T1-R, very good for local conditions, reasonably quiet, very supple ride for UHP, 45 seires rides like 55 series etc.
Niwde1980 1st Gear July 27, 2006 Share July 27, 2006 i using Toyo Trampio .... very good for dry and wet
Fooman Clutched July 27, 2006 Share July 27, 2006 Hi, am on 235/40/18 T1-Rs for my E90, so far so good. Some tyre roar to be expected for UHP tires but bearable- a mite better than the GIIIs I was on previously. Surprisingly it rides better than the run flats that came with the car! Mooscenic 1st Gear July 27, 2006 Share July 27, 2006 Hi, I'm on the TR-1 now (195/50/15) ... Quite comfortable ride and decent handling.... Tire noise also good... However, if compared to Toyo Trampio Guwn, Trampio's grip will be much better and more controlled... TR-1 tends to bounce abit around the bend... Though can still manage but not as sharp... Braking is comparable I guess... Mooooooooooo
Hondapower Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Author Share July 28, 2006 (edited) Quite surprised Toyo Trampio also good for wet, threads patterns like not deep without huge groove for channelling the water. Any way, will get a TR-1. I'm going for the comfort and safety aspects, no Tokyo Drift driving style ... Thks bros & sis for your views !! Teddi Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 Whats teh pressure you pump? For your profile (195/50/15) F-230, R- 210 psi. TR-1 tends to bounce may becos of over pressure.
Mooscenic 1st Gear July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 I'm on 34 (Think is 235 all round) leh according to the tire shop... So should be Front 230 and back 210 ah??? But it's on a Mazda 2 so is it gonna be the same for all cars??? Can advise??? Thanks! Moooooooooo
Teddi Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 Pump when tires are cold. Also a profile of 50 may have resulted this as there isn't much room for the tyre to absorb road shocks. T1-R has a stiff side wall, so it helps to take corners better. You may already have noticed during U-turns (as compared to your previous tyre). Mooscenic 1st Gear July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 Yes U-Turn is sharp... But compared to Trampio Guwn, the Trampio is stickier around bends and sharper in feel as compared to T1-R. Maybe it could be because of the tire pressure (34)??? I'll go inflat the pressure that you'd recommended and test it out... But sometimes can feel that the front is heavy if the pressure is lower (than 34).... Moooooooooooooooooo
Hondapower Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Author Share July 28, 2006 How come the tire shop recommend people 200 psi all round, for 195/50/15 (Toyo TR-1). ???
Teddi Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 I have used GU:WN Trampio before T1-R. Both are good but T1-R shines in the noise & wet department. Which is better for 205/55/R16? (In terms of wet & noise & value) - Goodyear Revspec 2 - Michelin Preceda 2 - Dunlop Sportsmax - Hanhook VENTUS V8RS - H424
Mooscenic 1st Gear July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 Same here... First set on Trampio then now T1-R... As you'd correctly pointed out... T1-R is quieter and more comfortable... Price also not that bad... For size 16, why not try Goodyear Eagle??? The price is pretty good! Mooooooooo
Teddi Neutral Newbie July 28, 2006 Share July 28, 2006 Goodyear GSD3 very noisy. My friend buy GSD3 & I go for T1-R. Same profile, same ride. After 8K, very noisy. Mine already exceeds 15K, still as silent. GSD3 is better in the wet & shorter stopping distance as compared to T1-R.
