Ahbengdriver 6th Gear July 24, 2006 Share July 24, 2006 Most tyre shops I spoke to say these days, their sales is 80% Taiwan rims. They acknowledged that quality in terms of rigidness n weight n maybe finishing is lower than original rims but so far no issues. For those who have put on new taiwan rims, what are yr experiences. are they reliable. I wld appreciate some good n bad feedbacks. ↡ Advertisement

Biccat Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Share July 25, 2006 Bro, I have used Taiwan rims for the last 15 yrs with regular trips up north to Kuantan, Malacca, KL, Genting as norm. Never encountered any quality issues with them.
Slee Neutral Newbie July 26, 2006 Share July 26, 2006 I guess those pple with budget tends to go for the real after-market stuff which can be very expensive. But for many others who want fancier rims (or design that they like) with limited budget goes for replicas. Personally I think tech today has advanced and replicas are just as good and reliable. Kanr 1st Gear July 26, 2006 Share July 26, 2006 Hi Ah beng, most taiwan rims are normally heavier in terms of wt. plus the finishing products may not be as precise as the orginal rims like madwe i Japan or others contries, bro!!!
Ahbengdriver 6th Gear July 26, 2006 Author Share July 26, 2006 Hi yes, I think in terms of looks, the replicas can be very good n look very alike the original ones. But I was told most of them use heavier materials so could affect FC, the bigger the rims.
