Do any of the non-cosmetic upgrades apply to the Skoda cars sold in Singapore? Our local car distributors' practice of stripping cars to the barest minimum invariably makes such improvements irrelevant.

Well, that depends on whether the features are standard, which will be incorporated in the mentioned models from 2007. Or options which the dealer has to decide whether to include in the equipment list of the car sold in a specific country.

The Octavia was a car I was not really looking at, until now, saw some one in China and was really impressed with it's pressence amidst the VW cabbies, cars, Audis.....it was nice to see something that I have been looking at in the forums here.

Well will post some pics later.

Hi All

Am new here. Hope to take into the members' wisdom of cars especially Skoda.

Heard dat the Skoda Octavia Combi 2.0 TFSI will be in town next month. Px quoted by SE is $98,988. Is the fastest production car by Skoda 0-100 kmh in 7.3s. Uses the new FSI engine and has turbo. The Skoda Octavia that we have in the Singapore showroom is really a very old model. In KL, the 1.6 has the FSI version and comes in as a saloon and the combi version. The combi is like the estate wagon. Saw the FSI version in KL www.autopraha.com.my.

Have read the reviews in the UK and generally favourable about the T FSI. And as we all know, the Skoda brand is rated in the top 3 of the JD Powers Customer Satisfaction Survey for a number of years now. But do you think the price is on the high side? Considering dat the Focus 2.5 STI is selling for only $95,000.

Regret that many new exciting cars could not make it

successfully in toyotas/nissans infested countries like in Singapore.

i find that many Singaporeans are simply blind followers (no offense).

Following blindly from schools to offices to "hear say". Sigh.....

most of us are like copiers...
