Nutty 4th Gear July 20, 2006 Share July 20, 2006 Anyway, that's only 14.3km/l. No offence... but doubt you can even be among the top-20 if you take part in Shell Challenge.

PointyEwe Clutched July 20, 2006 Share July 20, 2006 With the fuel sipping Sonata taking part, even hybrids will have to take second place. No offense, but doubt you will make it.
Nutty 4th Gear July 20, 2006 Share July 20, 2006 REally curious... did anyone ever solve the mystery of how Sonata can achieve that kind of FC?

Eg. 1. W/O aircon all the way... 2. Plan their route really well. 3. Manual ride. 4. Lighten car weight. As for me, i normally only manage to hit 600km-650km(max) running on 16" rim, Auto tranmission. aircon all the way. plus spare tyre and my product samples...... Nutty 4th Gear July 20, 2006 Share July 20, 2006 You can try doing the above pointers that you mentioned and see if you can push your FC up to 25km/l. No joke... that's the minimum FC that you need to achieve to win the competition.
Nutty 4th Gear July 20, 2006 Share July 20, 2006 Anyway, I think your FC is really good for a Civic. I drive a ES5(A) Civic myself the the best ever I achieved was 13.7km/l. Average about 11 to 12.

Bentwy Neutral Newbie July 21, 2006 Share July 21, 2006 yeah I drive an altis. pretty good f/c I get for a 1.6. it helps that in the mornings to work (I get to work b4 the sun rises) I don't use the airconditioning most of the time. yeah the vvti is good for everyday economy driving. but I'm changing to a jazz idsi soon. hopefully can at least maintain this f/c figure or better it. recently fell in love with it. ↡ Advertisement
