Poper 2nd Gear July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 Anybody tried the cyclone 3? Does it really boost your pickup, FC and give cleaner combustion? This guy called Fr**kie was explaining a lot to me but I can't decide unless I know someone who tried it before ↡ Advertisement
Carchngchia Clutched July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 I saw him doing some simulated demo with those pet water bottles...quite impressive but whether it works realtime on your car is any story. Btw,the cyclone metallic air filter is quite cheap as compared to the other well known brand.Somemore they will provide free cleaning and maintainance every six months for as long as you own the car. Kelpie 2nd Gear July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 This is so called passive air-charger.i.e. only activate when the car is moving. I believe more in active air-charger, you control when you want to turn on the turbine. Again, most of the performance gurus here will tell us these are snake oil and only superchargers and turbochargers are worth the attempt. Carchngchia Clutched July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 I would have thought so. Thats why I was quite sceptical with the demo. Notice not too many people show any interest.
Silencedge Neutral Newbie July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 (edited) Are there any online links for those who didn't witness the demo to do an evaluation too? Searching on Google didn't seem to reveal anything. Edited July 16, 2006 by Silencedge
Kelpie 2nd Gear July 17, 2006 Share July 17, 2006 It is the usual two mineral water bottles demo. You get to see miniture turbine when water flow throw the gadget. Perhaps it is proven, can last till version 3. On the other hand, the cost of manufacturing this simple sheet of metal shouldn't cost them much too. Poper 2nd Gear July 17, 2006 Author Share July 17, 2006 Yah... it bl**dy expensive... I think it's 1 for $260.. If it works still can bite the bullet since it will last till the car scrap.

For me, i always thinks that all these gadgets are sychology issues... Its up to individual to think about have it or not.
Silencedge Neutral Newbie July 17, 2006 Share July 17, 2006 @ Kelpie : Thanks. Thought if can see how things work, maybe can DIY and try it out. @ KiatMobile : I believe that some car manufacturers have utilised the same technology in their models already, just that they are known by different names. Silencedge Neutral Newbie July 17, 2006 Share July 17, 2006 Hi Bro, Here's a quote from the famous Fuel Saving Website :: http://www.fuelsaving.info/turbulence.htm. As an example, the new 3.5-litre Mercedes V6 (in the SLK 350) contains a variable turbulence system. "The intake ducts are equipped with newly developed tumble flaps which improve the intake process and combustion of the fuel-air mixture. These pivot open under partial load, increasing the turbulence of the gas flow in the combustion chambers. Under higher engine loads the tumble flaps are completely recessed into the intake manifold. Thanks to the use of these innovative tumble flaps, the fuel consumption of the V6 engine is reduced by up to 0.2 litres per 100 kilometres depending on engine speed." And if I didn't remember wrongly, somewhere in this forum, someone wrote about Mazda employing some precision air flow techniques too, supposedly utilizing the same air spinning principle.
