Aikshin Neutral Newbie July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 hi all, i wonder did u guys encounter the same problem, i've observed uneven wear at my front (left hand side) tyre even after i have done computer alignment, i wonder is it anything to do with the suspension or mechanics of the getz's front (left hand side) hence the uneven wear ? i observed the rest of the tyres look alright for the tyre wear but the front (left hand side) has much faster tyre wear ↡ Advertisement

Dipstick Neutral Newbie July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 (edited) Do you drive down the MSCP ramps at high speed? I had that problem before until I slowed down when driving down the ramps. If you take a close look, the surface at the bottom of the ramps are like coarse sandpaper that wears out tires rapidly. Aikshin Neutral Newbie July 16, 2006 Author Share July 16, 2006 as a matter of fact, yes i do park at mscp and "chiong" up and down the ramps so that's the problem thks
Yeobh 4th Gear July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 Can be due to tyre rubber not properly cure casing rubber harness to vary .The other possibilities is under inflation or loose ball joints.
Furrynadz 5th Gear July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 mscp goes up turn right all the way down also more wear on left
Beanoyip Turbocharged July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 Does it really have such effects on the tyres? Cos MSCP is usually smooth surface?
Furrynadz 5th Gear July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 its not the smoothness or roughness look at it this way more downforce = more wear, agree? when turning right, more force on left wheel..agree? yeap it really matters i dun park mscp at all cos i stay landed my both side exact same
Dipstick Neutral Newbie July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 (edited) More downforce + Abrasive surface = Much more wear Edited July 16, 2006 by Dipstick

Qooo Neutral Newbie July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 (edited) getz'z hind camber alignment can't be adjusted. it's a fixed block for the hind wheels. Alignment can be done only on the front wheels. This was explained to me by one of the mechanics when I tried to fix the uneven wear on my hind wheels. I bliff so as I saw there was no nuts or screws for the hind wheel assembly on my raised getz. Silver_blade Turbocharged July 16, 2006 Share July 16, 2006 I have not done any alignment since I took delivery (& retro-fit 17" rim) of my car 2years ago. I have done tyre replacement and didn't see any uneven wear. My car is going straight at any speed. So in this case, do I need to have the alignment checked? Boyboy 1st Gear July 17, 2006 Share July 17, 2006 mscp goes up turn right all the waydown also more wear on left hey for directional tyres still can rotate left to right? as in, will the tyre shop take off the tyre from the rim n swop to the other side. or will they charge extra. or even, will the tyrebe damaged if u take it off n put it back on the rim too often? am wondering abt my GR80s, not high performance but still a directional tyre. wad will happen when i need to rotate? Tyreboy Neutral Newbie July 17, 2006 Share July 17, 2006 those who park their cars at MSCP all the time should rotate and balance the tyres at every 8k instead of the usual 10k. ↡ Advertisement
