Changed my brake pads (front) last week. Still can hear screeching sound when starting to brake. My mechanic said it is normal. But its been almost a week now. Is this really normal?

I visually inspected my brake discs, no "damage" leh.

Well could still be the compound. Go ask ur mech if he used the shims. if he did then its confirmed the compound. Once bedded in, try some hard braking. Should temporarily reduce or even eliminate the noise.

I agree. OEM and Original Nissan pads are different. For my Honda, I used OEM and original Honda pads before, both made by Nissin. But somehow, there's a difference when braking to a stop. The OEM pads made a groaning noise when releasing the brake and when the car is coming to a stop but the original Honda pads doesn't.

I feel the surface of both pads and they feel different.
