Biccat Neutral Newbie July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 Although I am no longer driving a Korean car, I have to disagree with this comment. If you look closely at an Altis or Vios, you will notice that the quality of build isn't what it is supposed to me. The external body parts are not very well put together with uneven gaps and seams. In my opinion, Hyundais are better build. It has been well documented somewhere in MCF forum already.

Biccat Neutral Newbie July 4, 2006 Share July 4, 2006 A lot of it has to do with biased perception. When Jap makes were introduced many years ago, ppl were also reluctant to switch due to the impresssion that Conti is better. However, it is no longer the case now. The 1st Korean also made its way into the S'pore market in the 80s by way of the Hyundai Pony. Sales were also very bad then. But times has changed. Hyundai is already among one of the top selling brands in S'pore cos ppl have already accepted it as a quality brand product and also partly due to the clever pricing by Komoco. However, some of the biased perception against Korean makes are hard to dispense with.

Biccat Neutral Newbie July 4, 2006 Share July 4, 2006 That's right. It is even one step ahead of the Altis which is only 110 bhp although I understand that the next Altis will also be 120 bhp and above.
