Thanks for the insight. Looks like its going to be a tough final warranty year for me to get them to fix all the defects but no choice since after warranty the repairs are going to be so expensive. [:(]

The gearbox oil leak is very common, all over the world. Mine happened 1 month after I got my car. [shakehead]

Since we have to pay so much for servicing during the warranty period, my as well make sure all our defects are fixed! One of the SAs actually told me C&C increased the service prices as the number of warranty claims have gone up! [thumbsdown]

Agree with you the C-Class drives beautifully. Even if I want to get rid of my car, I won't be able to find another comparable one to replace this with.

That's very early in the morning to surf and do posting.

Seems that we have c-class that are in the range of 2-3 years. Wonder when can we meet to TC.

Not true. Amazing what lies can be had nowadays.

All repairs under warranties are covered by Mercedes Benz, not C&C. I know as I've a few complete parts changes, including HU and condenser coil.

In the warranty letter which I got from C&C, they said "For your information, the first year warranty by the manufacturer, Daimler Chrysler AG. and the additional 2-year warranty is same as the manufacturer's warranty terms.".

Anyway, whoever the warranty is from, I would expect the warranty repairs to be carried out without fuss within the 3 years warranty period. Right now I have so much resistance from C&C just to have my noisy AC compressor replaced! They kept saying they have to be accountable to C&C, etc... because the noise is within specs, and this is expected in all C-Class!

You are just plain lucky... Some Lexus has reliability possibility too...

I got few friends with Lexus which are quite problematic and they switch back to conti [:|]

I think all brands more or less got some periodic problematic cars being sold but I believe Lexus could be on the lower percentage side [:)].

A friend bought (another) Lexus. I asked him why and he replied there were two reasons, the ownership experience and the fact that his previous lexus did not need ONE part replaced in the last 7 years, wear and tear excepted, even then he was surprised how little he had to spend compared to his brothers who drive other prestiege brands. But I still like the C-klasse very much. Of course every brand has its off day, I am sure Lexus included. I think this is why they score so highly in customer satisfaction; its the aftersales and how issues are dealt with that really matters.

Had no problems with my warranty - immediate no question asked replacements of the following:

1. HU lights failed - complete change to new HU although a simple display panel change will do.

2. Musky smell upon startup from aircon - Clean and sprayed cleaning agent, but smell came back. They were very apologetic and asked for 3 days to completely change out the condenser coil to new design which works better in our weather (does not trap moisture). Problem solved.

BTW, our air con compressor is by design a bit loud. Sometimes, we have to understand if it's really spoilt or not. For E Class, we also get to expect the rather distinct hydraulic pump building up the SBC hydraulic brake reservoir. I've seen some owners demanding that be changed - but that sound and vibration when pump is working is there by design!

I went to C&C Leng Kee. Was serviced by the only female SA there - she's good and professional. No difference if it's 1st year or 2nd/3rd year. 3 years warranty honoured.

Actually I also like the C class alot. Its kinda like for the young at heart; small, compact, let's you zip around town in a comfortable and sturdy ride. I think a lowered C class with 17" AMG rims and kit will be very pretty... agressive and stylish...

And dun even think about pitting yourself with the integras or wadever jap ricer cars, they're definitely faster, and of cos its not meant to be compared with... it's a different class on its own. =)

I don't mind having one. hahahah =P

Jon

I get a C class and change wif ur SLk ok? lol.
