Actually not recommended to buy and install other than from BM. Cos it will void warrenty for ur new car.

Some cars catch fire for reasons like installing after market electrical products due to short circiut. Furthermore if the fog lamp is bought & installed by authorised dealer than there will be no issues with LTA.

BM provides the warrenty thats why the high price. But compare it with other issues, I think u can accept it.?

I change my nissan one @ Tan Chong onli costs $220.

Anyway be patient man. Your car make is still new so not a lot of parts available outside BM. Find out more from other forums too. I believe u'r not in a hurry for a pair of fog lamps in S'pore.

thats toyota for you [laugh] (not just BM). They charge crazy prices for non-mechanical related parts. aud$25 for a pair of clips, aud$35 for a switch, aud$10 for a screw... but aud$15 for my top rad hose.

[sweatdrop] Could be possible for high labour charges. Not everything easy to install what. If time consuming thats where labour charges will come in.

Its easy for OEM part installation.

For the foglights themselves, its as simple as bolting/clipping in the foglights after removing the cover then plugging it in. the connector is already on the wiring loom.

For the incabin switch its just uncliping the cover, connecting the switch to the plug thats already in the loom and clipping the switch to the dash.

theres no cutting, drilling, soldering etc...

Its just toyotas policy on non-necessary items. I'm willing to bet the original headlight would cost abt $100 to $200 more a pair and they're a more complicated item to make.

I doubt its a HID fog lamp.

The first time i call they sae its not approved cuz LTA wan the fog lamp to be activated by the swtich type den must have indicator on the meters there.

Second time i call they sae its $686 without installation.

@ $686 i can buy a normal fog lamp + HID still save $.
