How much engine oil for Edix?

Hello, anyone know who many litres of engine oil is needed for the Edix 1.7? My friend's edix user manual is in jap.. cannot make heads or tails out of it..

Wondering if 4 bottles of 1 US Qt oil will be enough... appreciate advice..

I would advise 5 quarts standby. 4 quarts almost touch 4 litres only and I suspect that the Edix may require slightly over 4 litres.

Yah, that is the safe choice. Problem is my friend got the 4 bottles from me (without checking first) and i dun really have extra spare bottle to pass him.. Also hope not to buy extra bottle only to find that it is not require..

 

Hope someone would have the info to help..

Actually if not enough, can get the garage to top up the remainder...if same "grade" oil, shouldn't be any big issue at all :) All Honda engines I believe require at least 4 litres...esp the ones higher than 1.6l

3.2l with a change of oil filter

3.0l without changing the oil filter

So little only?? That's even less than wat my 1.3 engine need..

Confirm correct one. Check from honda japan website. Double check with mugen engine oil brochure from japan and check again by cleaning my spectacle lenses. You think this is little. If you drain and re-fill atf only 2.7l. Toyota and Nissan all 4l. D16, D17, L15 all use very little engine oil. Only K20, K24 use more than 4l.

Its not the engine capacity that determines how much engine oil is needed. its the sump capacity.

Can only mean one thing with such a small sump capacity. Frequent oil changes. No more than 10k OCI.

 

The best is the Renault Megane or so I've heard. Sump capacity is 5L. Song song can go 20k OCI.

Edix 1.7 is using the same engine as Civic VTI-S (1.7L) and Stream 1.7L. Should require 4L of engine oil. Can check it out in SHC forum.

Just an update as my friend just changed oil on his Edix. Brought 4 qts got left a bit balance. So 3.2 ltr should be about right..

 

Now he's on Schaeffer 10w30 and he says can feel the diff (good). Dunno wat oil was he on last time..

Go down to 5W20! Actually no difference since now he is on 10W30 but you should see a little bit better on the long run.
