Ivtecody Neutral Newbie June 18, 2006 Share June 18, 2006 Anyone had went JB recently and saw the new Proton Satria Neo on display at any of the shopping centres in JB? Looks good and there is considerably marked improvements in the cabin materials used when compared to Gen 2. However, still below par when again compared to the japs. Comes with 1.3 and 1.6 engine capacity with 1.3MT selling at RM$43,500 and 1.6MT at RM$48,500..darn cheap when it's converted back to SG dollars..comparable to only buyin a coe car in sg when converted.Haiz... Btw, the 1.6 is directly carried over from the Gen 2 with the Campro engine producing 110bhp@6k rpm..reclinable sports seat and centre exit exhaust with handling tuned by LOTUS. Wonder whether if Proton Sg will be importing in and how much will they price the Satria Neo in SG if it really comes.. Views and suggestions??Thks! ↡ Advertisement

Dolphinaudi Neutral Newbie July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 (edited) Satria Neo!! I only saw it for the first time in Autocar last week. Not bad..the wheel arches could be smaller and wheels bigger. Otherwise, pretty decent design..hope to see it in person soon . Edited July 3, 2006 by Dolphinaudi
Tashi Clutched July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 To be honest bros I think the Satria Neo design is beautiful! I actually like the larger wheel arches, and the strong musculine front. I also happen to prefer a hatchback (too bad wife doesn't feel the same way) and so the HB design for the Satria Neo actually appeals to me. If Proton in SG sells is reasonably (apparently between the price of a Savvy and the Gen2), then it would be great. But wife is airbag crazy, and so the 1.3 is out, and must be the 1.6H version with the 2 airbags. bless tashi

Tashi Clutched July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 wah bro, the Red Satria Neo very fierce huh. The 2 top photos, the front look "lower", is it just the wide angle shot you used? I believe the car is not that low right, unless modded with different suspension? bless tashi
Dolphinaudi Neutral Newbie July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 unfortunately, the pics are from the internet (not my own one)- so dunno what camera they use..

Tashi Clutched July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 hi bro, I know I have bad eyesight (clinically blind), but if you look at the first photos on top (the first photos posted) and these 2nd lot, dun you think the front grille looks different, as if the 2nd lot has been modded to be larger and lower? or my eyes crazy?
Zyrofillica 1st Gear July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 its quite obvious the second lot (first 2 pics) are those of a lowered bodykitted car with extra large rims and brakes upgrade. The red one (third pic) loooks similar to the first lot of pictures.
Tashi Clutched July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 thank u thank u bro. Sorri la, i am really clinically blind (1300 degree each side). so wasn't too sure. check with you younger guys with infinitely better eyesight lo. thanks again! I think the car on its own is beautiful enuf without the need for the lower kits. imho. bless tashi
Wt_know Supersonic July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 the headlights seem a little small .... like just wake up from sleep !
Tashi Clutched July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 hi bro I think with the stock model the headlights look just fine. Kinda remind me of Mazda 3 front. Very nice really. But the kitted car (the 2nd lot of pictures) because the lower part seems way too large and low, it would make the headlights appear slightly smaller than should be. So my humble opinion, this car is beautiful in its stock form. So guess it is down to color. bless tashi
Dolphinaudi Neutral Newbie July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 Hi Tash, Here are the original links- yes there are the non-kitted photos (stock) and the kitted ones.
