Not entirely true with your pricing just over the north. Espesially on the Hondas and Toyotas. Not sure about the other makes.

Well, why dun you try earning, buying a other-than-made-in-malaysia and maintain that car in RM.

You can see the living standards in Malaysia is very higher than SGP.

Actually COE is good. It controls car population. In fact, I want 2 options

1) Scrap ARF componenet.

With ARF scrapped, government loses taxes but the COE is still present to control car population. Market forces will determine the final price of the COE.

2) Scrap COE. Increase ARF many more times.

Only the rich can drive and afford. I like things to go back to the mid 90's where prices were so high. This ensures a low car population and there's a minimum amt of prestige for people driving cars.

The only thing that attracts me in the 90s is the cheap petrol price. A Litre of Ron98 is even cheaper than the diesel pricing now.

Over North, they have invented 'AP' for imported cars, somewhat similar to COE in effects.

I would prefer to scrap the ARF component.

IMO, ARF is an excuse to increase the gahment's coffers.

Let COE be the main determinant and make the whole system simpler. [flowerface]
