The Name

 

Ferruccio Lamborghini - born under the zodiac sign of Taurus - when he founded the famous super car company, that since then bears his name, gave to it the symbol of the fighting bull. In the sixites, when the Miura was introduced, he named the car after a famous bull's race, and this practice became a tradition for the House of the Bull. Honouring this tradition, the Management of Automobili Lamborghini have decided to baptize their latest model with the name of a fighting bulls breed: the Gallardo (pron.: ga:y

in singapore we use brake horsepower(bhp) instead of horsepower(hp).. so 500 hp is actually not 500 bhp since its a different value.. correct value should be 500 bhp

Aiyoh...Mr California...

 

There are two, the LP560-4 (Coupe and Spyder) and the LP550-2 Valentino Balboni.

 

The Balboni was created as a limited edition to mark the retirement of the legendary test driver, Valentino Balboni. It is two wheel drive and offers a closer experience to the Miura, which was also a two wheel drive.

 

I have been lucky enough to meet Balboni, which is very very inspiring - its said that he has driven about 80% of all the Lamborghinis ever produced. He has driven EVERY prototype since the Miura.

 

Over 40 years, with the most legendary supercar brand in history. And you know what? He is just a cool guy.
