I personally feel that Sun's Hot Inazma range is one of the top VS around. Though a tad expensive, it works very well for me.

Get another capacitor for your ICE (if u need the extra ommp)

Agreed. Being using it since 2003 till now, no problem and its still working. [thumbsup]

don't think there is a way to tell which VS is good......

but i've tried RMK/Pivot/zstab (1st 2nd, ez-stab) ..... i still think z-stab and ez-stab feels the best...

Pls excuse me, can I know how to judge whether a VS is good or no good?

My ride got no Amp, can I benefit from it?

A VS is good if you can 'feel' the benefits...

the more you pay, the more sensitive your 'feel' becomes [laugh]

Extracted the following from: http://forum.onemotoring.com.sg/mvnforum/m...read?thread=103

Just ensure that the Voltage Stabilizer comes with 4 capacitors. The capacitors are the ones that help to stabilize the flow of current.

one alone will not be very good.

and its also good to have 5 grounding cables. these are for the:-

1. car body

2. firewall (on car body. between engine and driver)

3. distributor

4. cylinder head

5. alternator

it is also good to buy those stabilizers that actually have a bulb that lights up when connected to the battery. a good way to test if th estabilizer is working is to connect and disconnect. when you disconnect, if the light is still on, the stabilizer is working well. if it simply goes off after a second or two, that's not something you want in your car.

do be careful of those fully covered voltage stabilizers as you may never know what's inside. there are some who rip off customers by having

Any comments? [flowerface]

like abit cut-off halfway leh..

rip off customers by having? [bounce2]

Anw, capacitors in this case, act as a filter to filter out AC signals. our alternator outputs in AC current, which is converted into DC by a converter n regulated to ard 14+V.

maybe for older cars, this process may not be as efficient..

different capacities of caps filter out different frequencies of these noises..

p.s, i'm not an electrical engineer, so not familiar with the exact details...

Capacitors are connected in parallel with the power circuits of most electronic devices and larger systems (such as factories) to shunt away and conceal current fluctuations from the primary power source to provide a "clean" power supply for signal or control circuits. Audio equipment, for example, uses several capacitors in this way, to shunt away power line hum before it gets into the signal circuitry. The capacitors act as a local reserve for the DC power source, and bypass AC currents from the power supply. This is especially useful in car audio applications, when a stiffening capacitor compensates "power lag" from the lead-acid car battery.

Let me share my sequence.

Pivot installed. Used for a year.

Installed Max Volt. Thought higher cap, better. Gave my pivot to my brother.

After around 6 months, Max Volt swelled and smoked. [knife] Removed.

This morning just installed Pivot again. :)

Got it at $80 (without grounding cables).

Bro where u got ur VS from? If plus cable hw much ah?
