Says comparing in terms of to what sense? Hp gains or performance gains? Hp gains of course the ECU stands out, but in performance I`m 100% pretty sure the suspension mods outshines over the ECU mods in a racetrack between two cars of same make & model...

Actually everyone needs to sit down, drink a cup of tea and eat a bun before further discussion.

PERFORMANCE

What is performance and its definition? Everything is about performance!?

Engine Performance

Handling Performance

Aerodynamic Performance

Aircon Performance

etc

Performance is too vague. It could mean anything if not EVERYTHING! If the thread starter is reading all these, please rephrase your initial question, streamline it into more precise fields so something solid can be discussed.

Yes ELFENSTAR, I totally & certainly agree with you, but dont forget one scenario that you`ve got to brake faster before entering a moderate or sharp corner, thereby losing precious time in a racetrack with little long straits, but many corners for you to encounter them one by one. And also just purely an ECU or piggyback mod cant really gain much ponies out of it( maybe 5-10%, depending on car type )...

As for mods like Nos, TC & SC, they give power gains. In turn they produced more speed, and these speeds gives you a better lap times in a circuit. Therefore, a good suspension still produce more speed with it`s hidden power! If i will to choose only between only ECU and suspension only... [sly]

BTW, to each his own, and seriously nice chatting with you. [thumbsup]

Regards.

Forget it. You totally biased for suspension.

any of these mods can reduce or increase performace (including circuit times) but it depends on the choice of the component, setup and the track/scenario. (As what chisiang has said)

I'm not going to use drift spec suspension components for drags as i will not be launching as fast as i can, but neither am i going to use a huge TC with massive lag for a circuit with lots of bends as response is more important. I doubt that there are many people in this forum that are as anal as i am with regards to settings, components and tuning of suspension and steering focusing soley on handling without any care for comfort or launching traction.

The only basis for performance comparison without any specifics (as the threadstarter has done) is average power gains which the suspension cannot compare to as it does not give any figures in this respect. And because it cannot be compared to, it cannot be ranked against the rest of the mods which excludes it from being chosen as the performance part that helps the most.

Have you read what BMW wrote explaining what i mean? He understands (and mind you he's not the only one) and btw, we're both twisties and circuit drivers. We love our bends (though i think i love them more [:p]), yet neither of us chose suspension because we can't compare it to the other mods using figures.
