Stary Turbocharged June 8, 2006 Share June 8, 2006 (edited) Quote Is good to from owners to say their cars suck. Anyway the STUPID optra 5, is bought without my consent!!!! luckily, is not my daily drive.. i just use it when i need practicality. The car really sucks to the core... sorry i am a sports car person.. not a normal driving person. When turning at 120km/h the stupid front suspension which is holding the weight of the car... DIPS!!! is not even stiff enough!!!! ALmost killed me! WHen i need to over take cars... engine seems to rev very slowly... always in the wrong gear by itself!!! another thing.... the stupid engine drinks more than a 2l turbo charged car i'd driven!!!! Is slow and is thirsty.... Only 3 good things about it... Strong and heavy body... able to handle malaysian roads.. and Comfort. It may drink alot by the way i usually drive... so i cannot comment on that. Looking to get a Suzuki Swift Sport 1.6L or an ITR as a family car. Bro...based on what you wrote, I think the problem is not the car. The problem is that you bought the wrong kind of car. You said it yourself that you are a sports car person. Then why did you buy an Optra5 and then complain that it can't perform like a sports car? I mean who on earth would turn an Optra at 120km/h and expect it to feel like a F1 car? Or who on earth will go overtake cars and expect the Optra to have a turbo response? Buy a car that suits your driving. Don't buy a rickshaw and complain that it can't perform like a Cannondale mountain bike and then say the rickshaw is lousy! Stary Turbocharged June 8, 2006 Share June 8, 2006 fully agree. Sometimes it really depends on the driver too. If you don't do your part by taking care of the car and driving it like the way it should be driven, you really cannot complain if the car breaks down. I drove the Optra and I think for the price I paid, it is a wonderful car (more than 2 years liow). I also have some issues here and there. There was once the MTIA fails and I can't accelerate and black smoke all over. Bring it back to the dealer, told them nicely and they treated me back nicely with a free replacement within an hour. After that no issue anymore. However, I saw some other drivers scolding the service agents and all that over minor issues. It's crazy.... Cars are machine...for sure they will have issues from time to time. These are natural problems...not defects. Being owners, I think we need to be realistic. They will give issues regardless what brand.

Victorco 2nd Gear June 9, 2006 Share June 9, 2006 (edited) haha i think he refering to initia-D lah tuku doing the railway train style turn. comon the way he reply about toyota engine already tell u he is a initial-D fan. every make have thier golden time engine honda B16 series nissan RB or the SR Series toyota like he say the 4A series maybe i not into their make. daihastu their Gtti series suzuki their GTI series all this are more then 10years ago engine. so does that mean nowdays engine should be much more powerful as compare to before? but dont seem like the case instead nowdays is Fuel saving rather then power unlike before. B16,SR16VE can make 160BHP or more stock. now 110 already very high liao for 1.6L every make will have lemon inside one even BMW so branded also got. further more those who have lemon are normally pple who dont know about car or dont care or take notice about steps to run-in the car. some pple just start and wack the car liao how not to spoilt... some mileage reach liao no time carry-on driving dont care, when car spoilt then say is manuf fault. El69 Neutral Newbie June 17, 2006 Share June 17, 2006 Sorry to hear of your less than ideal experience of the Optra. Not everyone is perfect, let alone cars that are made by these less than perfect individuals. And the worse thing is that its further compounded by the fact that its sold, bought, serviced and owned by less than perfect people. So, what is perfect these days?? Even what is 'near perfect' is only 66.6%. ↡ Advertisement
