Hi! Weekdays only 2 of us most of the time, weekends will be full load ie plus maid and 3 v young kids.. Good mix, maybe abt 50-60% on highway. So far, changed 15' rims, Hurricane air filter and iridium spark plugs. I have not revved above 3000rpm so far. Initial acceleration up to 2500rpm, and I'm not the type to rush to a red light, if u know what I mean...

Is it only engine oil and oil filter that's changed at 1K servicing? What is Quickflash? Does it involve updating the ECU software? Cheers

yup. i think the list of things to change is indicated in your servicing booklet. Anyway, quickflash is basically reprogramming system to tune specific maps. Good thing is, LTA cannot detect u have done it. the detailed info is found in this site : http://www.myharmony.com.sg/

I can attest to the claim of better fc and power. Based on my experience, before doing quickflash, I had to step rather hard to raise rpm to get more power moving off. Now,I can ease the pressure on accelerator, rpm rises more rapidly, power gain more effortless.

FC is an added bonus. [thumbsup]

Hi! Do not actually know the differences, but if u look at the Hyundai range, what really surprises me is that the 1.6 throughout the range are NOT the same. Getz (106ps) Matrix (103 ps) are non CVVT from earlier development. In fact Getz 1.6 has slightly different cc prefacelift (1594cc) against now 1599cc. Verna (112ps) and Avante (121ps) are both CVVT. Not sure about min octane required, but Getz min is 91... Maybe Avante require 95 or 98 min? [:)]

Basically, if can get hold of the technical specs, my gut feel is it should able to reach 121 bhp. Example the celica engine and the new altis 1.8 are similar engine. Should be able to get abt 180 nhp. Notice I mentice new altis, current range is still on the older platform.

I agree wif geting a 1.6

Not for the power but for safely purpose. To me, ABS is very important. On wet road and e-braking, ABS is the one which can save u [thumbsup]

There is discrepancy between the opinions of komoco staff. The salespersons say that Getz 1.4A can do from 11-12 KM/litre. As per the service centre staff, it can only do between 9 - 9.5 KM. Probably service centre staff is speaking the truth.

i think it's normal for salesperson to claim a better fc to persuade potential buyers, cause u probably won't meet the service centre staff till u have bought the car & bring it for svc. [laugh]

Anyway, to be honest, 11-12km/l can be achieved, depending on driving habits. In my case, I drive pre-fl 1.3A, getting btw 11.5 to 13. I have moderate right foot(rev btw 2-2.5K, occasionally 3K) 50% HW/50% city. getz 1.4 shd achieve same or better figures, given a better power-to-weight ratio. 9-9.5km/l is for extreme cases, like heavy right foot, full-load ferrying etc.. Ya agree with u... Salespeople talk has to be discounted a little. But I think 11 to 12 shouldn't be a problem at all for normal driving. Max torque anyway, is at 3200rpm. For someone who travels a lot, then maybe should consider other more fuel efficient models..

the engine use in altis 1.8 is 1zz, same as celica ss1. the other celica, ss2 with 190hp is another engine, 2zz. both engine r totally different.

here the spec of the ss2 engine

Hi Bros, recently got into the Getz trend of cars fever.

Was wanting to get a Getz 1.1M or 1.6M. But after reading some pros

and cons of the 1.1M like no power windows, ABS and airbag. I got a little

Sceptical about it. Not because im a unsafe driver but i just prefer to have

this as a safety feature. Just in case type of mentality. However, I read that

the pickup isnt good as compare to the 1.6M. Perhaps need some of ur comments

if i should get a 1.1M or 1.6M. FC wise im a little confused. Some say 1.1M better

some say 1.6M better even when rather light footed. So i presume i will take an aggregate

value. Thanks bro.

Bro a getz is a getz [:|]

by the way, anyone read the sunday times on 3 sept? Getz 1.1m is deemed as cheapest to insure in its class, cheaper than 1.1 picanto! That's somewhat surprising! another plus point of the getz, i guess! [thumbsup]

anyway, anyone know the reason why getz insurance cheaper than pica? [shocked]

Think you're looking for redeel, not redboy... [laugh]

Getz 1.6A 5dr price is $27,999 for OPC.

Road tax = $150/yr (1st yr inclusive)

Insurance depends on the driver's profile... Need more details before i can give you an answer. Why not gimme a call?

My guess is that the claims statistics for Hyundai in general are lower than Kia... Reason being, there are much more Hyundais on the road than Kias...
