Ic3ncok3 Neutral Newbie May 22, 2006 Share May 22, 2006 u need to find a good painter.....and beware of rock chips. i went from red to dark purple on my prev ride. a few mths after the spray, rock chips made red holes in my paint. it's ok if u dun look too closely. but i didnt feel too good knowing the holes were there. Tayo Neutral Newbie May 27, 2006 Share May 27, 2006 dun worry abt the color transformation usually the painter will spray basic 'coat' & usually it's grey color the next day he start spary basic 'color' white then leave dry for 1 day following day he will respray white again once the paint half dry, he will spray final coating 'lacquer' all process done in ovenbake last but least, final touchup will be the polishing to ensure no uneven paint shown
Thermodynamics Neutral Newbie May 27, 2006 Share May 27, 2006 Why you want to spend money that make your car resale value lower? White car body has lower resale /trade-in value.

Heynsl Clutched June 5, 2006 Share June 5, 2006 i was considering the option of spraying my car from black to another color... was quoted 1500 bucks for it... is this worth it? heard that they need to remove all the external parts to spray and then assembling back but it may cause prbs later due to some workshop do not have good workmanship in assembling back the parts... this is my greatest fear... Watwheels Supersonic June 5, 2006 Share June 5, 2006 (edited) Why do u wanna do that? Do u know that when u trade-in ur car, the SE will deduct a few K from u telling u that it's not of original colour. Ok lah, providied the car body is being sort after in other countries. But i think they'll still deduct u anyway by giving u a stupid excuse. Joking lah. I think it's Bcos ur car body parts & panel even bumpers can be used to replace those cars who had accidents b4, body panels that are beyond repair. Having so many layers of "extra" paint, i think more work had to be added to it. Original ones just saves the trouble & money.
