Leftovers Neutral Newbie May 15, 2006 Share May 15, 2006 Been using Klasse Combo. Once a while use Menzerna HGAS after car wash. Now I noticed the cloth gets a bit dirty after applying HGAS (car wash done of course - using Meiguir NextTech Car Shampoo). If I use AIO, the MF applicator turns black very quickly, rinse in water a few times no use, must leave it overnight in Dynamo for the dirt to disappear. Any suggestions how to "clean" the paintwork surface ? A few rounds of AIO? Claybar? ↡ Advertisement
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 15, 2006 Share May 15, 2006 Hi bro, that's the reason for a chemical paint cleaner, to remove contamination that cannot be removed by either claying or car shampoo. So a regular maintenance with clay and a paint cleaner, follow by sealing with a sealant or wax, will ensure the paint work in a tip top condition. Pardon my ignorance[blush] I always thought that it is the dust. So the moment I saw it I apply cleaner wax without knowing the actual reason why after washing and claying I still encounter dirt on my MF. Thanks Gen2 I learned something new today

Toalson 1st Gear May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 Just another question, does paint cleaners and polish, glaze remove the prior LSP (namely wax & sealant)?
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 Paint cleaners most likely chemical cleaner, so it will remove the prior LSP on the car. Polish depanding whether does it contain abrasive, the LSP will be remove if abrasive is present. Pure polish and glaze are pretty much similar, normally they do not contain cleaner or abrasive unless stated otherwise. Even though that's the case, certain amount of the LSP will be removed after applying the pure polish or glaze and that's the reason why manufacturers always suggest we apply a layer of wax or sealant after the polish or glaze process. Toalson 1st Gear May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 Thanks So SRP, M20, M21, DC system, AIO, Prime (series), ScratchX, ColorX, etc would remove the LSP.
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 (edited) Of all the products you mentioned, they do remove the LSP maybe with the exception of #20 and #21. Both sealant have mild cleaner in them, maybe good enough to clean up mild contamination for better bonding of the sealant but not strong enough to strip out the LSP totally. Toalson 1st Gear May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 Talking abt the M20 & M21, I do know that their cleaning properties seemed quite good cos, I recently used the M20 I the pad was totally black. But after I claybar n reapply the next time round(a couple of days later), it was no longer black. I am also be curious about the cleaning properties found in the 2 products and if not mistaken read that M21 was said to have slightly less cleaning abilities. Having said tat, can they be layered? Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 You are right, M20 has a stronger cleaning property than M21. According to Meguiar web site, both products can be layered so the cleaner shouldn't be too strong.
Toalson 1st Gear May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 So the black stuff on my pads is just surface dirt. Maybe just use the M20 as occasional cleaning. N leave the rest with my trusty Fusso12 + Fusso9
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 (edited) Maybe you can consider M20 as a one step products, something like a cleaner wax, occasional useage will help to clean up the surface. But once a while using a dedicated paint cleaner might not be a bad idea too . Edited May 16, 2006 by Gen2
Toalson 1st Gear May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 Okie So M20 shouldnt be considered as a dedicated paint cleaner rite? Should use SRP since I still have quite a good amount left.

Oinklinda Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Hi, i've got a not so deep scratch mark on my bumper. Can you advise on any product to get rid of the marks. Thank you.
Hobbes187 3rd Gear May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Maguire ScratchX might help... Just this evening I left some scratch marks on my bonnet due to some mistake in claying but after applying scratchX a few times, the marks magically disappeared... Akibo Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Hi Gen2, I bought the AJ + AG combo and its doing great. Could really see the difference right after I applied it. Image is definitely sharper and it is easy for use. You will definitely hear from me once the two bottles have run out. I will not be getting the Prime soon as I like to finish my M20 first. Still about 75 % more left before I start changing to Prime. Aki
