Oil filter change frequency

Hi All

Just a double check, How offen should we change our oil filter, Old time ago hear people said every 2 oil change but now aday people change every oil change! Pease advice

every oil change any way very cheap only and most of the servicing package comes with the oil filter..

if you use mineral oil and change at 5000KM interval. change your filter on the 2nd round of oil change. If u use syn oil, your oil change should be 10,000km and you chnage it every round....

it never failed to amaze me that this kind of questions still being asked since my younger days

 

I have committed the same 'sin' so often and had to pay the price many years ago

 

As i got older, i figured out that i should look into the car manual and just follow the instructions and if i do not have one i will go the car agent and ask

 

there are lots of variable such as:

 

how you drive - lots of short go and stop driving

area that you drive - very dusty

and so on

 

the best if one can afford is to use brand new oil everyday but it is impractical

the question then lies in between economy and preservation of the engine block

 

 

 

not every car has similar servicing requirements due to their specifications and etc

 

if the manufacturer do not know how to treat their own cars, then you have to be very suspicious when you buy their car.

 

take the guess work out and don't commit the same mistake that I have made.
