Rainbowsix Neutral Newbie March 1, 2003 Share March 1, 2003 If a Toyota Vios 1.5S Auto goes for $76 317 while the Toyota 1.5 XLi Sedan Auto goes for $79 317, which would u get and why? ↡ Advertisement
Baldbrownboy Neutral Newbie March 1, 2003 Share March 1, 2003 I'd get a corolla for the following reasons: 1. corolla is the best selling car in the world. sure to have high resale value! 2. corolla is made in japan. quality will still be higher than one made in thailand. 3. difference is only $3000. that works out to only $300 difference per year, or $25 per month! considering points 1 and 2, i'd go for the corolla anytime. well, just my 200 yen's worth ! Rainbowsix Neutral Newbie March 1, 2003 Author Share March 1, 2003 I agree with u that the resale value of the Corolla will be higher than the Vios. As for quality of the Vios, it is said that the factory that produces the Vios (Gateway, Thailand) is the best Toyota factory worldwide. The Vios is based on the Echo platform compared to the Soluna which is based on a 1985 Tercel platform so it can be seen that with Vios, Toyota is aiming for a huge slice of the budget cars. However, the thing which irks me most is why is the price difference so little? If u get the Corolla LX instead of the XLi, I think the difference between the Vios S and Corolla LX is only $1k! All the more the reason to get Corolla IMHO.

Phochem Neutral Newbie March 2, 2003 Share March 2, 2003 well, i think vios should be a 1.3 or even a 1lit car instead of a 1.5lit. since its target is on budget conscious buyers/owners. comparing both corolla and vios, i would choose to pay few $$$k more for the corolla over vios. juz look at it, cabin/legroom seems smaller so most likely ppl will have this feeling of less spacious. Phochem Neutral Newbie March 2, 2003 Share March 2, 2003 yah... maybe 1.3 but still the price like tagged abit high. shipping from thailand compared to shipping from Jap should be cheaper rite? some more labour cheaper over at thai, wonder why they priced it at this figure.
