Bobcatsysop Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Hi Bro, I did full car SP with Silent except firewall. Very happy with it. Can blast my ICE and still good as well as containing much of the sound when doors are closed during auditing of ICE.
Mubarakrashid Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 does it improve in minimising on the road, wind and engine noise after you done the SP? how about when driving above 90km/h...? does it get better after the SP?
Bobcatsysop Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Hi Bro, Nissan Sunny is known to be a noisy car with road wind noise and a thin roof top that rattles with the rain... I'm happy with the SP done so far. There is a ICE meetup tonight. I'll be there if you like to see the results of SP.
Mooscenic 1st Gear July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Is it necessary to do 2 layers as compared to 1??? I'd just booked my appointment for this Friday and doing up 1 layer for my 4 doors first... Going to try and hear the diff first then decide on other parts to do... So now wondering if I should do 2 or 1... Hehehehe.... Moooooooooooo
Bobcatsysop Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Hi Bro, for I.C.E. - nothing less then 2 layers..
Mooscenic 1st Gear July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Wat if i just want some basic SP then? Me not doing it solely for ICE (Not into this at the moment) so do you think it's ok to do up 1 layer and it's sufficient? Basically wanna cut down on road and vibration caused to the door area... Else if really need to do 2 layers must do the 2nd layer another time liow... Mooooooooooooo

Bobcatsysop Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Hi Bro, << Wat if i just want some basic SP then? Me not doing it solely for ICE (Not into this at the moment) so do you think it's ok to do up 1 layer and it's sufficient? >> If it is not for ICE then you can do up 1 layer for the 4 doors. Later on you can add in the 2nd layer for ICE. <> If that is the case, then you need to do the wheel arch and fenders and the roof top for rain drops (dunno if your ride has tin-can roof like the sunny. Cleanwipe Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 if SP not for ICE, then 1 layer (outer) is enough but must do the wheel arch & fender (I'm on Q now)

Bobcatsysop Neutral Newbie July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 (edited) Hi Bro, << if SP not for ICE, then 1 layer (outer) is enough but must do the wheel arch & fender (I'm on Q now)>> Yes.. wheel arch & fender is mainly for road noise. Tell Shan uncle bob asked you to go to them. Hopefully, they will give some face to do for you together.. Edited July 19, 2006 by Bobcatsysop
Mooscenic 1st Gear July 19, 2006 Share July 19, 2006 Oh ok cool... Will do up 1 layer first then decide on doing the wheel arc and fenders.. Maybe roof in the near future... May I check how much improvement did you gain from using the Silent SP then?? Oh on Q ah? So i'm lucky to get a slot this Friday then.. Doing it up at 9-10am... Used to drive Renault Scenic so took for granted on SP as my current ride (Mazda 2) should like a noise machine as compared to the Scenic! The Scenic was always hush and comfortable... Very well insulated.. Only noticed the diff when I switched back to a Jap make... Moooooooooooooo ↡ Advertisement
