Alpine Motors

Spoke to Mr. Lim, the workshop manager ! He is happy to welcome paying customers to his workshop. BTW, the workshop is owned by Alpine Motors ! He will entertain all inquiries and request for repairs and service. The workshop is brand new but not very conspicious because it hiding behind some kind of carpark for scrapped taxi. Mr. Lim explained that it is only a temporary location for the next two years or so. Will be moving when the business expands.

On the warranty issue, it was GM's decision to restrict the warranty repairs to the selling dealers. Imagine if one dealer just decide to concentrate on selling and direct all warranty repairs to the other ! The other receiving dealer would be pretty soar about these kind customers and treat them like sxxt !

Brand new facilities in Sin Ming but only three mechanics as far as I can see. Will send my car in for the 50K service when the time comes around.

SA belongs is under Wearnes Automotive. No, they didn't lose their AD. They are still an AD. I think GM wants to create a stir in the local market. We already have PIs bringing in stuff. The good PIs are actually smart. They just sell cars and they shake hands with a workshop to provide aftersales servicing.

You know how bloody expensive it is to keep a workshop running? Its the labor cost that kills. What these AD are doing is keeping fats and running an every growing Godzilla that keeps feeding and feeding due to increased client numbers from the cars they sell! Bigger showrooms with equally bigger AD workshops is not the solution to keeping customers happy. There are way a lot more workshops out there. Why re-invent the wheel!

Compare the mechanic to the sales exec selling the cars. The SE is a ruthless selling machine. A soldier that keeps the cars going out. He is the one generating the most money and he is cheaper to maintain. Not the workshop! Let someone else run the workshop for crying out loud!

har u mean they are will still share the same workshop???

maybe another reason could be SA do not commit to open more showroom?

No lah. Not yet. They will not share workshop as of now. If GM wants to be serious, should adopt the situation that is in Malaysia. Got many Chevy dealers and many authorized workshops. The dealers need not necessarily run a workshop. IMHO it does not make business sense. All the car stealerships in Singapore don't make business sense. Only greed sense.

I have been to AM showroom at Royal ville (Bk Timah). SE there are friendly, good service & do not pressure you into signing. I have never been to SA , so can't comment on them.

Infact, I have just booked my AVEO5(AT)HB this evening & all I can say is that I am happy with the service I was offered so far. I can only hope the after sales service would be just as good, but for that...will jus have to wait till I take delivery.

gotten mine from AM too. SE is indeed helpful and mine was really a 'smooth operator'.

Was actually interested to get a white Aveo, and u know how I was discourage? (funny that there isn't many white Aveo's around, does it look that bad a coulur?)

SE told me there was no stock of white Aveo. And even looking at the next shipment, there wasn't any as well.

It was what he said that later that turn me topsy turvy in laughter. he was telling me that with the chevrolet logo being a cross and added with a white colur, it looks like an AMBULANCE!!! I didn't even know how to be [furious] with him. Because it was so funny.

Well had to settle for another colour then.

Have been driving for 2 days. and so far happy with what I got.

Hi GUys, wonder if you can let me know wat deals, freebies, the package AM offers?

I was lookin at Aveo 5 HB(manual) SA and did test drive, but the colour i am interested in (yellow), no ready COE package.

Anyway, jus wanna check out more on this car, Aveo wasnt my initial intention, my brother jus suggest to check it out at the ubi showrm, and surprisingly it doesn't seems too bad.

Cheers

Hi B,

If your are considering Chevy, i think it's really to our advantage now that GM has appointed 2 local AD. Y not prop by AM & check out since u already been to SA. Be your own judge.

For my case, I did not go to SA at all. So I cannot comment on SA. I went to AM roadshow at TPY & was happy with the SE's service & attitude. Next day went to test drive, SE not in but called to get his colleague to attend to me. Not pushy, I only signed up five days later.

I have not taken delivery yet so I can't comment on the after sales, all I can is I'm satisfied up to this point. Perhaps Lyrad could comment.....

Hi Bearyscoby,

Got mine about a week ago and still enjoying the ride. reverse sensor and solar film shouldn't be any problem. Maybe u could try asking for sports rim.

And another thing, I got half tank full when I take delivery of the car. Maybe u want to ask for full tank. [;)][lipsrsealed]
