Scrambyjess Neutral Newbie April 24, 2006 Author Share April 24, 2006 Can anyone pls help mi! I applied AG Paint Renovator on some minor hairline scratch marks, applied pressure and indeed it did remove them. However after applying resin polish and EGP there is still patches of the paint renovator on the surface although it was removed. Anyone got the same experience? i did wait for EGP to cure 2 hours and the traces of the renovator is still there. ↡ Advertisement
Marcostan 4th Gear April 24, 2006 Share April 24, 2006 Oh boy, Paint Renovator is only can used by experience detailer. I think u over polish the same patch and actually the PR already make one hole go in. What u can do is use Autoglym Resin Polish to polish the same patch and must apply a bit pressure and do it few more times. Example : 1. Apply the Resin Polish with heavy pressure for a while. Buff off and hope it is better. 2. Apply again the Resin Polish with lighter pressure. Buff off and the patch shall look much better now. 3. Keep apply Resin Polish again & again, do it a few times and must buff off each time to see how it improve. 4. Finally u shall be able to remove the patch 80-90% but the portion u will still feel uneven. This is really can't help, the damage is done by Paint Renovator and it actually take off some of the clearcoat. This is why it look uneven. Just my 2 cents and hope can help u. Garlic 1st Gear April 24, 2006 Share April 24, 2006 You might want to pay more attention to that area when detailing your car, the clearcoat there will be quite thin by now. Paint Renovator is very abrasive stuff.

Ducktail Neutral Newbie April 27, 2006 Share April 27, 2006 Paint renovator is water soluble. QD or damp cloth should remove it. U need to polish after that because surface will be scratch free but a bit dull
