Renegade Neutral Newbie April 21, 2006 Share April 21, 2006 ....and there you have it. Was lurking around one of my usual after-hours hangouts and saw something similar to the product shown below (from TravelPac) on sale - a Bluetooth handsfree kit integrated into an equally useful wide-view rear-view mirror. Sadly, I couldn't find a pic of the actual product I saw, for whatever reason... About time someone came up with something multi-functional and useful as this.... ↡ Advertisement

Kelpie 2nd Gear April 21, 2006 Share April 21, 2006 It was already in Hong Kong back in late last year. Going there next week, will check out the pricing then. Regards,
Requiemdk 1st Gear April 21, 2006 Share April 21, 2006 I saw it at Car Beauty before. Price is around $200 or thereabouts. I'm more concerned about the product's reliability and longevity. I didn't want to pay $200 for a device that'll last for a year or two and then breakdown, then in the end i'd have a $200 mirror. Bear in mind that the BT mirror is subjected to the hot sun here when your vehicle is parked in the open... Yes it replaces the stock mirror. Have to take out the stock one and fix this one up. Silver_blade Turbocharged April 21, 2006 Share April 21, 2006 I also saw it at Car Beauty. I too wasn't sure about it's reliabilty. I feel the normal bluetooth ear piece is good enough.

Requiemdk 1st Gear April 21, 2006 Share April 21, 2006 Precisely. The one that comes in the Beemers is an option that costs several thousand if I'm not wrong. This one comes packaged in a box that looks and feels like it contains a $50 phone. After looking at accessories for some time, I realized that it's quite pointless to buy something that will only last for a while. When I looked at this mirror, it didn't give me a feeling that it'll last for the lifetime of my car, or at least, even 3-5 years. Maybe bros who have bought this before can offer their experiences instead. Hopefully my gut feeling is wrong.

Spango Clutched June 23, 2006 Share June 23, 2006 Hi, Sorry to up an old thread, but has anyone used the Skysphere bluetooth handfree rear view mirror? It clips on to the existing mirror, takes power from the cigarette lighter socket. Anyone using this care to comment? Think my only complain with this is the dangling power cable. A review of the product can be found at: http://www.hardwarezoom.com/viewcontent.ph...doctype=Reviews and some photos of the product: ↡ Advertisement
