This is 1 of the ways how they make their $$$. [pirate]

I thought car dealers make more $$$ in servicing than in selling cars.

That is how it is turning out.

Now they give the impression that if u go outside ws the warranty will void also.

This cause fear in pple & to avoid any trouble, they just go to those stealers to get their car serviced at crazy prices.

And to add insult to injury, many times I found the outside ws do a much better job than the stealers.

If u notice, many stealers use young apprentice mechs to "practice" on your car.

Once they got enough experience, they leave for outside ws who usually pay them more.

Nippon Micro oil filter good?

I have a dissect pictures of Nippon Micro filter. I looks pretty well build when compare to ST oil filter.

Look at how the filter pleat is arrange in the Nippon when compare with ST, the japs arrangement are pretty tightly pack with 3 full length pleat plus 1 smaller pleat. This i assume is to aid the oil flow the filter.

The filter housing, bypass valve and call plate are CNC machined from Billet 6061 T6 Aluminum. The filter cartridge uses stainless steel micro-screen and end caps bonded into a single piece for extra durability.

90915-YZZE1; this number is quite same between the copy one and the genuine part.

I suggest buying from the dealer. That is the best safety.

Safety Valve or Bypass Valve is responsible for draining engine oil through the filter directly.
In case of clogging of filter paper, there will not oil flowing through therefore the engine will get damaged.
The copy one( not genuine) ; the filter valve is not standardardized, and spring is not functioned well.
Hence the oil will not be flowed, or the oil may flow cross without filtering.
If you wait too long to change the oil and oil filter, there is a danger that the oil filter might become plugged.
To prevent a plugged oil filter from starving the engine for lubrication, oil filters have a built-in safety device called
a "bypass valve." When the differential pressure across the oil filter element exceeds a predetermined value
(which varies depending on the engine application), the bypass valve opens so oil can continue to flow to the engine.
But when the bypass valve is open, no filtration occurs.

So far for best value oil filter i think Nippon Micro is the best as compared to OEM filters, better than toyota denso. Ever since toyota denso filter production moved to thailand, the quality seems to degrade a lot as compared to the made in japan one.
